Whilst this isnt the greatest England cricket team of all time (top 3 in the batting order still to make their mark) i do feel fortunate that we are living in a period of time of seeing a number of great players together and making watching England an enjoyable experience again.

    Root-

Probably in the form of his life. In the first couple of years of taking over as captain he was finding his feet but he is definitely his own man. Initially i felt the responsibility of the job affected his form but now we are seeing a number 4 batsmen playing with a smile on his face who just lobes scoring runs.

    Stokes-

Is there nothing he cannot do? His batting has got better and better. He is probably the best fielder in cricket and in terms of bowling he will always give his all and take wickets.

    Pope-

Lots of comparisons to Ian Bell in terms of looking like him and playing style. I can see him scoring a hell of a lot of runs in England's middle order in test cricket for many years to come

    Bairstow/Buttler

Two very good wicketkeeper/batsmen and 2 very good players of spin..A nice problem to have but also can play with both guys in the team and still doesnt affect the balance of the batting order.

    Bess

A spin bowler in test cricket can be compared to a goalkeeper in football where they dont usually reach their peak of playing until about 30. Bess is 23 and whilst he is still learning all the time he is getting better and better and can also hold a bat.

    Broad-

Beware the wounded animal. Worst/best thing England did was to drop him for a test last summer. He came back with fire in his belly and looking over his stats over recent years he seems to have got even bettter with age. And just keeps on taking wickets.

    Anderson-

    GOAT.

    Plus not forgetting-

Leach Archer Wood Woakes Curran Crawley

    Archer out of second test.

Poor India. Having to face Anderson in the form he’s in and a Broad with a point to prove.

That made me laugh. God we're going to miss those two when they finish. I can barely remember when they weren't our first choice attack!

On the list of leading all time test wicket takers Anderson is only 8 wickets behind Anil Kumble and Stuart Broad is only 3 wickets behind Courtney Walsh.

Jimmy in 4th place 611 wickets
Broady in 7th place 517 wickets
