Was Schopp appointed without an interview?
And re not needing to interview if they're already at the club, what about Heckingbottom? Or Wilson? Or Ritchie, Collins, Hunter or other internal appointments? If he's the best man for the job, we should know it already.

My point about Schopp was that it appears the primary reason we got him was that he was Austrian and cheap.
All candidates should be interviewed in a fair and consistent manner, internal or not. If they haven't been given the authority of head coach before you can't predict how well they'll do it.

I don't think the overseas appointments were cheap,we paid a fair whack to sign them.

Do you still think we will appoint Wilder mate? Saw that you heard the same as Kes on the Wilder thread on Friday.

Ahhh…..he insinuated that the deal was done. I guess that wasn’t the case then and was only in for talks?

Wandering around the indoor market this lunchtime and just coming away from Potts' stall was a bloke with a Stockport County training top. As he neither looked managerial or especially athletic I'm not going to leap to conclusions about whether or not Dave Challinor is Oakwell bound.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Khaled has said previously that we maintain a list of players and coaches so if Devaney is a candidate then my view is the interview would serve no purpose - we know or certainly should, his qualities and weaknesses and he knows what style of play the Board want us to play. We also have some evidence to predict how well he'll do it based on his performance following Asbaghi's departure - stronger evidence than his answer to interview questions. If we have delayed the process by waiting to interview him, then we've wasted time unnecessarily imo.

We can't afford Wilder and I cant think of a single reason why he would come even if we could.
The Stockport manager seems spot onto me.
But what do I know lol...

Tbf you only responded with your opinion, when you saw a bookies page disappear. Plenty of others did the same. You weren’t the one who created a thread to say he’d signed.

Agreed. However the same post also said it would be announced over the weekend, which didn’t happen. We’ll find out soon enough.

Cowley is like Wilder, insists on total control over all footballing matters, wants to be a manager not coach, it’s the main reason he never got close to being considered before when he was at Lincoln.
