No chance SD. Revie was reviled where I lived. In the 1920's a lot of Geordies walked from Newcastle down
to Yorkshire to find work in the coalfields. Some came down from Scotland as well.
There were a lot of second generation Geordies and Scots in my class at Junior School and I was big mates
    with a lot of them.

It was a common sight on a Saturday to see cars carrying Dads and lads with black and white scarves hanging
out of the windows as they were " gan yem" on their way to watch United. Salt of the earth them lads.
Can't ever remember any of my mates ever supporting "the scummers."

A mate I used to have a jar with in my local played for the Reds briefly Archie Taylor. He also played for Donny, Bristol City,
Halifax and was "a runner" with Phil Boyer for Ted McDougall when they played at York City.

'King Benny' = Benny Hill = Keith Hill, Whitey's favourite manager ever. Definitely him in disguise. Don't know who he's kidding with the 92 though ;)

Roeville were a Stainforth firm weren't they.? I only knew one Reilly. His name was George and he married
a lass called Wendy. At one point I think he had a Sports shop in Stainforth.

I don't know if you've been back but since the strike in 84 the place is a now "ghost town."
Pit closed , businesses left for more affluent areas. It's sad to see how run down its become.
