New top 3.95% savings - risk free

New Top 3.95% 1yr fixed savings AND it's 100% Safe! Or 3.3% easy access. Updated Guide
The new and possibly short-lived 3.95% AER 'guaranteed growth bond' from NS&I is simply a 1 yr fixed savings account at the highest rate in months. As usual with fixes, it's designed for those who can lock cash away.

For your £5000 you get £200 after a year.....

It's better than a kick in the teeth, but I'd be looking at putting £5000's worth of ale, ciggies and diesel in the cellar.

I bet that would be worth more than £5200 next year.
