Bernard Jenkin just giving a disgusting interview playing down any form of violence and its existence and frankly contradicting himself saying theres already border checks and that there wont be need for any border checks. And of course... all this is the EU's fault!

The Good Friday agreement was always diplomacy on a knife edge. Both police forces either side of the border do an amazing job keeping paramilitary / criminal types quiet. Both sides have wrong uns who use the troubles as cover for criminal activity. These threats are real, more smoke to hide behind. Rile up certain sections of the population and hide in the shadows. The police will be too busy to throw numbers at serious and organised crime investigations when there's riots or worse.

This was always going to happen. It's a sad reality, but Brexit is a gift to those with such criminal urges.

The troubles in Ireland , Victorian working practices for the lowest paid ie long hours low pay no rights .

very blinkered Marlon to be fair, yes i agree to some extent there certainly appears to be less terrorism happening on our streets but the troubles certainly have not disappeared. The exact same terrorists are the exact same criminals. they always were running protection rackets, running club doors, deciding who and who couldn't sell drugs.

They are treated as Criminals on both sides of their communities .
The IRA surrendered it munitions ,stood down its forces , closed its official criminal activities Drug running , etc closed its links with other countries especially USA . All in the name of the GFA . This treaty was signed by all concerned .
To say that these criminals are part of the troubles is to give them credence , credence of which the top ex IRA refuse to give them .
I’m not saying that there won’t be ardent Republican people among their ranks but to give them a legitimate (in their eyes ) cause by saying they are a continuation of the troubles when all around that island say otherwise is wrong . They are what they are and that’s criminals and that’s how they are perceived in Republican and Unionist alike . But that could change with Borders.
