If you or anyone else, doesn't vote,do you feel justified in complaining about what elected politicians do? Often to me,the loudest moaners about politicians are those that didn't vote. I wish people would vote and get involved, irrespective of the party/person they choose.
No-one with a Conservative heart serves my local interests. We still have public libraries in each local area, public swimming baths and all of our children's centers have stayed open, which I guarantee is due to us having Labour councilors (or certainly not having Conservative ones anyway).
Unlike Boris. Whilst hiding In the fridge. And took nearly 2 yrs to appear on GMB. Who will you be voting for at the next general election btw. And why.
My Tory council have reduced our collections and closed everything from the police station to some services at the hospital the last Labour MP in Selby got built that they tried shutting. I'm standing as a candidate for Labour to stop these things happening an reinstate much needed services.
Definitely NOT starting an ongoing debate here Mr D, but simple question: Do you consider brexit to be a success?
No. Nothing has changed. I don't feel any different. I got stirred up by the whole nationalism and Rule Brittania stuff. I looked at Australia and New Zealand hoping we'd be like them. I'll be honest I didn't look beyond the bluster and took the figures quoted as factually compiled by civil servants. I wouldn't change my vote though. In time under the right government I think we can be better off not putting money into the EU. I hated the idea of failing countries like Greece and Spain being propped up.
That doesn't mean you have to vote Conservative FFS. It's not binary. Granted, you've got a bee in your bonnet regarding Labour - fair enough. But don't vote for those ********.
I'd have voted Labour if they'd accepted the referendum result and not dismissed Brexit voters out of hand.
Labour all the way. It's not the party I would ideally like, but it's a million times better than the other option. I'm easier to convince on a local level anyway, as I happen to know Sinead (our local councillor) pretty well as she's from our village, and I voted for her in the last election.
So you vote for them, that’s how it should be, I vote on who I want to influence local issues, party politics don’t come into it for me until a national election.
The government starves their council of funds. The Tory Party say bad result, but it would be wrong to change our inspirational leader in the middle of a war.
If only a councillor would get behind some agendas in favour of Barnsley Fans: 1. Sort the bloody foot bridge out for fans on a match day. (And acknowledge how little consideration has been given to the fans during the revamp of the Town Centre) 2. Stop Christmas Decorations being blue & white in the centre of Town every year! 3. Get rid of that monstrosity of a statue (the rusty comb) & replace with something relevant and inspirational for the Town! 4. Stand up to SY Police who seem to think it’s fine to treat both Sheffield Clubs more favourably than they do us! 5. Offer to work closer with the club & the fans to enhance the match day experience. Before anyone goes off and suggests the above are not important let me stress these are achievable goals and commitments that can be delivered …. In addition to the political and welfare proposals of all candidates agendas. (As a minimum those on the fence or suggesting they are not going to vote at all to sway in their favour!)
Absolutely not, they are a set of lying, self indulgent, self serving, uncompassionate set of w@nkers that do not give a flying about the ordinary people, although the sun and daily fail readers seem to be taken in by their bull.
Voting. I don’t answer questions from people with rosettes standing around asking how I voted. Tomorrow I will make an exception. “I am not voting Tory as I do not want to burn in hell. I have voted for whatever party will remove the scum of the earth from power. I strongly advise others to do likewise.” Hopefully the cameras will there.
Have you been to failing Spain recently? I was there last week and it just made me more ashamed of the sh*t we’ve become. You must have swallowed the Daily Fail stuff whole.
If they understood facts and could work things out for themselves they wouldn't have voted Tory in the first place and we'd still be in the EU, sadly they prefer to believe what The Mail, Express, Sun and torygraph tell them.
