One of my favourites:

[Linton Travel Tavern lift. Alan emerges, singing ?Wuthering Heights?, by Kate Bush]

Alan: Out on a winding, windy moor we roll and fall in green / you had a temper like my jealousy / too hot, too greedy

[The lobby is being refurbished, and the furniture is covered in cloth. Alan sings loudly to attract the attention of Susan, who arrives from out the back.]

Alan:How could you leave me when I needed you / Possessed you, I hated you, I loved you too.

Susan:Bad dreams in the night / You told me I was ?

Alan:[Interrupting] Dear oh dear oh dear. That is extraordinary. I mean, to look at you, you'd think you'd sing like an angel, but in actual fact you sound like a trapped boy.

    [Susan giggles amiably.]

Alan:What a lovely smile. You know, you could have been throwing up all night for all I know, and yet your smile wouldn't show it. I don't know, perhaps that's how you keep your figure.

Hope we can ignore next Sat

Would be nice if next Saturday's results meant nothing as we were already safe. Would be fun to watch Leeds and Hull fight it out between them, while we sit on our safe hill sipping fine wines and stroking the nubile servant girl (sorry got carried away with my old-style war metaphor...).

Just re-read your post, Stuppa, god knows how I misunderstood!

    If Leeds go down...

... it will be the first time we've ever been in a division above them !!!

Remember the day we were relegated ? Next to last game of the season at home against Narwich. We the fans turned up, the team didn't.

Let's hope for the same at Elland road on Saturday with another East Anglian team !!!

We have a good relationship with Ipswich because of the play-off final, surely they could repay us by just winning (or drawing) on Saturday, seems like the decent thing to do.

So, I suppose if you were going to execute a bird of prey the most humane way would be death by firing squad.

It looks a little like death row, doesn't it? I'm sorry, Mr. Hawk. Your pardon has been turned down. You have been found guilty of pre-meditated homicide of a mouse, and you'll be hanged by the neck until dead. And don't try to hover up so that the rope goes slack.

    Yes.

Those odds are pretty good really aren't they? Absolutely no chickens being counted though.
