got a fixture list mate? il book a cheap train up as it looks like we arent allowed into Havant and Waterlooville this year
Same here pal, I think it was fine for a short period of 10 games but now there’s no end in sight it just doesn’t feel right any more.
I enjoyed watching the 9 lockdown matches last season because we had something to play for. Now can't say I'm bothered either way. I got my codes yesterday for the Coventry match, until then I had forgotten there was a match Saturday ! Just registered them & got confirmation - they may work Saturday they may not - it's the excitement of not knowing keeps me going !!
nice one, Clapton CFC are step 7, i reckon some of us might be able to do a job at that level still! if anyone could be arsed
I've a strange feeling we won't be relegated this season even if we finish bottom of the table, such is the uncertainty around Covid. It's an almost eerie calmness.
Still up for every game if I'm honest. Regardless of whether I'm actually at the match in person. It's still a little escape from the very little we can do at the moment. Still kicking every ball, shouting at the telly, every match matters. Maybe next time we are allowed in the ground, it'll be as the current fa cup and league cup holders. Also kicking off our first match in next seasons premier league.. Well we can but dream haha...
I’m not the Don. But 6,000 to watch Chelsea second string. Admittedly not exactly what you’d call reserves. Later rounds maybe. But 3rd round. Would think nearer 2k than 6k. Glad it’s available to watch online tbf. As a regular traveller. I might have gid this one a miss. 2nd round 2007 took I believe 1600 to Newcastle night game . Was the ridiculous reason the Don wouldn’t take up the full allocation for the Liverpool FA cup quarter final. Pratt.
I paid £150 for my "senior" season ticket which works out at £6.52 per home game. If we don't get to actually go to Oakwell, sorry Grove Street, again this season but can still watch via IFollow then I'll accept that as a half decent second best. I have a round trip of 100 miles so with the saving on fuel it is economically fine for me but sitting at home there are many other temptations, food, drinkies, sleep. As for do I care, yes, but not as much as I ought to. I still hope that one day we will win a league match but at the moment as I watch us on IFollow it's like I'm watching Anytown United. The two defeats have not ruined my weekends.
I feel off football too. I've watched the last games on the computer and have spent most of it reading emails and checking Twitter. Something has been lost, and I think it's the interaction with other people - the beers before the game, the banter among people you've been sitting next to for years, the mournful moaning in the car afterwards, waiting for the bloody gates to open before joining the queue for Cundy Cross roundabout. (I never thought I'd miss that last bit!)
they will be capped at 300 capacity, clubs are doing some form of track and trace and have Covid regs in place
Only game I really got into watching on tele was the brentford game when odour scored apart from that i cant get into it not same without fans.
Watching Barnsley playing home games on tele is weird especially when I’m only a couple of miles away. It’s only ever really happened when I’ve been abroad, not when I’m within walking distance of Oakwell. Other than that though it doesn’t bother me, my enjoyment of watching other teams on tele is the same whether there’s fans there or not. I just love football, I’ll stop & watch a game of 5 a side or sunday league or whatever it is. With the Barnsley away games I’ve been watching the majority of them on tele for a couple of seasons now so that’s not really changed. As for tonight I doubt we’d have even taken 2,000 in normal circumstances. I went to Wembley for the Spurs league cup game a couple of years ago & whilst I can’t remember the exact figure I think there was only about 1,500 of us there.
yeah, I follow them on twitter and have seen they have played a few games in last few weeks. Looking to find an upcoming game I can get to.
Saturday I’m going to get a season ticket as I’m Not likely to be allowed back into oakwell anytime soon. 75 quid and free for my partner as an NHS worker. Happy days.
