RE: You are free to do what you like

So because there is a chance more familys will be at the game does that mean that we all have to talk quietly, stay sat down etc etc??

Did the miners support the people who worked in the railway industry, steel works or the car industry? No its self preservation. Dont need to paint them out as the saviour of the working man.

So we have to 'behave' because .....

...... loads of part-timers are gracing us with their prescence, because it's only a fiver to get in? absolute quality, you couldn't make it up.

Don't worry, there won't be any trouble, South Yorkshire's finest will be taking the opportunity to double their match workforce and add to their overtime/holiday funds

but the people you are shouting most likely have never been near a pit. Also anyone under the age of 40 wasn't old enough to be a strike breaker in 1984.

'genetically bred to be spineless and subservient' bit of a sweeping generalisation.

    Or

We could try getting behind the team and producing a positive atmosphere for the players. Chanting 'Scab' does nothing to encourage the team. No one said anything about sitting quietly.

That will happen, the two things are connected .....

............. won't only be 'scab' chanted, but if that gets lots on their feet, then we might manage to generate some atmosphere (for a change), and if that's intimidating for their players and fans, all well and good

Again, no one said anything about such language

The point was why make the atmosphere aggressive. Wouldn't it be better to make it positive. More chance of lifting the team, more chance of getting a win and more chance of getting some of the less regular types to return when they see what Oakwell can be like. That's what we ant isn't it?

As an adult, I couldn't justify showing aggression, hurling abuse, effing or blinding in front of a 10 year old.

    Chanting Scab?

is it any worse than the constant Dee Dar chants against either of the pig teams? Neither is foul language.

Anyone would think they are coming to Galatasaray, i'm just off to make a sign for when their fans arrive "Welcome to hell, you Nottinghamshire pigs"

I don't understand what all the fuss is about.
