Davey has been a shocking manager, ***** football, ***** tactics,.......

***** with the supporters, ***** with the media and put these negatives with a ***** second in command and a fitness coach that thinks the game is 75 mins long and the coming season looks very attractive does'nt it? He's a footballing disaster waiting to happen Barnsley it seems is to be ground zero.

    Paul Ince

And you can't say he wouldn't come because you don't know that. I think he'd be happy to take on a championship club with a wealthy ambitious chairman.

I'm with you in that I don't want change for change sake. If we were to sack Simon Davey and just advertise the position and see who applies then I'd be against it. But I do think that Simon Davey has had a fair crack at the whip and he's come up a little short. I also think that Paul Ince is a great young manager who is currently out of work. If we're going to make a change then the time is now. Not ten games in to next season, not at Christmas, but now. I'd be tapping Paul Ince up to see if he was interested in the position. If not then I'd probably stick with Simon Davey. But I think it would be a real shame to miss out on someone like Paul Ince. He's going to be a cracking manager for someone. I'd like that someone to be us.

***** with the media and fans?

He's rubbish with Radio Sheffield, but then so would you if you knew how they treat all the other clubs in South Yorkshire in comparison to the 'big two'.

We've got an excellent backbone to the side, Steele, Foster, Hassell, JCR, Hammill (the club are working on signing him for next season, and sounds positive so far), Colace, Anderson, Macken, Hume (who insists he'll be doing a full pre-season and will start the first game next season).

Other than Norwich away (second half only), and Crystal Palace away, we've pretty much proved difficult opposition for every team we've played against. That wasn't the case two seasons ago when he was in charge.

I'm not pro or anti Davey, but now the dust has settled on our season, I'm pretty positive going into the summer. I know it's all if's and but's, but Hume's injury, Rigters not proving to be the player we all thought he would be, lapses of concentration in the last ten minutes - I reckon there's another 15 -20 points we should have had. We finished six points off 13th place!

IIRC, Curbishley had an ageing squad at Charlton

He got out at exactly the right time.

His successor (was it Dowie?) had a MAJOR rebuilding job on his hands - yet was under pressure right from the start. They've struggled to keep a manager ever since...

It's the same story nearly everywhere.

That should never be a reason to keep someone.

The only reason to keep him is if he looks like he is getting better, in this case the answer would be No he aint.
