I wouldnt be too bothered either way but I think if we did get rid tourism in London would take a massive hit. Every other country seems to love our royal family.

Tower of London, Oxford street and Museums are the main tourist spots in London..make of that what you will.
Nobody comes to the North or Scotland to see some stuffy inbred German "dole scroungers"..;)

Are you saying that the tourists wouldn't show if the Royals weren't there ? I've been to Italy and seen the Vatican in Rome. I haven't seen the Pope but it didn't affect my Euro spend.

Is the Crown Estate not owned by the country and the Sovereign paid as a distribution from it ? If so then whilst the payment may not be directly from taxes it will deplete the overall amount available for the public purse to spend or invest.
Not sure about this but it seems logical

Cost of visits which is paid for by local councils is £22 million. It's all about priorities, at a time when councils are closing leisure centres, libraries, children's services, social workers, closing parks, etc, etc, they have to pay for this. The police pick up £100 million bill for security for the Royals at a time when we face increasing crime across the country. Enough people go mad that India have a space. Program while millions don't have clean drinking water. Meanwhile we ferry around these rich parasites while claiming there's no money left for anyone else.

See do thousands of members of the armed forces. I don't see them rewarded with Palaces and untold riches.

I'm bot saying they aren't other attractions but the tourism in London would take a big hit. I don't go to London full stop just to watch the reds.... **** hold. But like I said other nations love our royal
