Apologies, it's from the Sun Manchester City defender John Stones will be allowed to leave this summer after struggles England defender has fallen down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order and is not developing despite his obvious potential https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6126387/manchester-city-news-john-stones-transfer/
He started this season really well and was getting plenty of plaudits for a big improvement on the previous season but then got injured in November. Upon his return from injury he seemed to have gone backwards and was making the same silly mistakes that attracted criticism the previous season. If they do sell him then I can't see them getting anything like the £47.5m they paid for him.
It is obvious Guardiola doesn't trust him and will be bringing in another central defender or two over the summer.
Is it? I find it hard to believe he’d not be happy with any of his 4 centre backs. 3 have been superb for the majority of the season & he’s only just signed Laporte
Agreed. I don't think he's any better for his few seasons at City. He's of the same ability as his Everton stint. He's not moved to the next level. He's still making the same old mistakes he did three years ago. He just gets away with them more because he's surrounded by much better quality than his Goodison days.
