Correct. However the counter to that is that Sheffield Wednesday were runaway leaders for much of the season until absolutely collapsing in the last month. They finished 3rd with a record number of points, and statistically the team finishing 3rd gets promoted in the play-offs the most. By contrast we are absolutely limping into the play-offs, on an abysmal run, with a defence made of Swiss cheese and apparently zero mental toughness. Getting promoted feels a long way in the distance for me, right now.

Psychologically, for Wednesday to recover after collapsing in the league and then after the 1st leg at Peterborough was a phenomenal achievement.

But that's kind of where we're likely to be, assuming we don't make a complete **** of things and finish 7th. However, once they start it's a clean slate. The start of a mini-season. I'm not saying I'm confident we'll win them, as I'm really not. But saying we've got "no chance" is just completely daft.
