I've a mate claims to have seen Arsenal for £30 this season

but maybe that's a "members" price. Mind, he also paid £45 for a seat behind the goal (lower tier!) at another game. F***ING HELL!

RE: Premiership football is slowly signing it's own death warrant

yeah you're right prices will go down, but for many teams will it be too late? Many have spent money they dont have on the basis that they will be getting more of the same next season.

Ironically this wont affect lower division teams *as much* as the ones in and around mid table in the premier as they just cant afford to manage their accounts this way and so dont spend so 'recklessly'. If the divide becomes any bigger between the top and bottom teams in the Premier, is the title actually really worth anything?

The term, "King of ****" springs to mind.

RE: but there needs to be XXXX amount of votes to change status quo...

Hmm you might be right on the voting, it would make sense - I suppose you might end up with a 5 team super league who play each other 5 times a season. I doubt it, but you never know.

and how long would that last?

However much fans love playing the big games...they're only big games in relation to the rest you play. If you play the same teams all the time it quickly becomes dull.

Hence, the big teams need the Prem more than the Prem needs them (or at least as much)

as for European Super Leagues...again, fans want to go to away matches, not simply see them on telly every week at Real, Juve, etc

No, I see the Premiership being around for a while, with the status quo continuing, tho with cheaper prices.

Yeah Id say so from a personal point of view, but the general consensus (or myth!) is that its still worth something. Sad, but football in the top flight isnt really a sport anymore, its a a vehicle for money and folk getting rich off the back of the people who support it.

    :S
