Is there a worse parcel delivery company than Yodel?

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

No mate. They're absolutely ****ing useless. I had to hunt down a Christmas present I'd ordered for my partner last year, as they'd apparently 'delivered' it and it had been signed for.

    Bunch of lying crooks.

    For balance.. Hermes

Some lazy ars'd driver yesterday couldn't be bothered with a trip to Penistone so just lied that he had "tried to deliver" and had "left a card" at 17:36. This was while the whole family was in and I was sat 8 feet from the front door.

I ordered a dart board from SportsDirect. They claimed that it was signed for by somebody called "John Smith" (I kid you not).

They also send all my Open University stuff, and for the last six modules I've done I've received a parcel exactly twice. The other four times they've eventually needed to resend the materials using Parcelforce. The most memorable was when I logged on to the tracker because I'd realised that my books should have arrived, only to see that they'd been dispatched six weeks ago, Yodel had apparently tried to deliver them four times, I'd called up three times to tell them I was on holiday and they'd been sent back to the OU as 'undelivered', all without me getting so much as a card.

When I phoned up to ask why they'd written down that I'd contacted them to tell them I was on holiday, the person on the other end of the phone said - and this is my favourite bit - "Well we can't just leave it there without putting something in, can we?".

Yodel do and say the same thing every year. "We underestimated the volume of parcels coming through"

My boss decided to move from DPD to Yodel last year to save 10p per parcel on our domestic deliveries

After having meeting's with them and giving them evidence of our volumes for the previous 3 years and telling them to expect 500-1000 parcels a day they still failed to supply a vehicle large enough to collect the parcels.

On top of that the complaints we received from customers who had not received their goods but had been signed for were unreal.

I pulled the plug on them 2 weeks before Christmas 2013 and started processing everything through DPD who handled the volume brilliantly. They may charge a little extra but you get what you pay for, no hesitation in recommending them to suppliers
