Had more of a chance than Jackson, who has impressed me when he's been on the pitch yet gets dropped.

Smith has offered so little it actually annoys me. When I think of players who would give their right arm to play for the Reds. Danny Rose for one.

If I'd seen Smith trying stuff, or busting a gut to get to a ball, I'd see your point but every single appearance has been ineffective and lacking in effort.
