Well technically, in past seasons the script was torn in half during the January transfer window and scuppered the team. We broke the mould last season in that respect. So hopefully it is a sign of positive intention for this season.

Money aside, I don't see the West Brom job as a head turner. 100% more pressure for any manager to succeed, far more chance of being out of a job by Xmas as well if they aren't in the top 3. Then you look at Barnsley, moving forward, a young team already crafted around his and the clubs playing vision, planning to strengthen already underway, loved by the fans. At the moment we are quite an attractive project for him still, I'm sure.

I love his style of play and his habit of winning matches. :)

i loved the winning matches bit. I loved the way we played against Norwich abd Chelsea in the cup and Bournemouth away plus one ir two more. There were more than a few other games that were absolutely dreadful in my opinion. We'll have to agree to differ on that. Either way, whether Ismael stays or goes next season will be different I reckon. :)

If this happens, the club need to be ready to get someone in quick. Just ahead of pre season is probably as good a time as any for regime change as it gives the new guy a lot of time to see what players he has and coach his ideas into those players.

Swift decision ,making all round is in everyones best interests.

A credible source that says they're approaching him, not that he's leaving.

We're going to keep Ismael, add to the squad, play like Holland and get promoted!? Cool. :)

Or Valerien leaves, we appoint someone who insists on playing football to feet like Nigel Spackman and we get relegated. Cool. :)

Remember guys the next boss will be like Ismael anyway.

    High press
    Develop young talent
    Etc.

We should still have continuity on whatever point in time he leaves.

I'd prefer playing good football and winning and that's what my fingers are crossed for. We did it under Danny Wilson albeit in a time when the playing field was less slanted.
Either way I think the club has progressed in lots of ways the last few years and we're in a position to compete a little better.
Going to be an interesting summer.

Just a typical year at Barnsley, that's why we support them. It's always interesting, at least we're paying our players. Players will always want to play for club that isn't going to withhold their wages.
