Murray won't be accepted because he's already at the club and doesn't have that x factor. He will be looked at as the cheap option. People will use whatever narrative necessary to poo poo him so he doesn't get the job.
Sorry to disappoint - I just saw a low flying plane, and wondered where it was going. Looked it up on Flightradar. That's it.
To an extent I understand the clamour for an English coach, knows the league, English contacts etc. However, I think a German coach could equally have excellent contacts in Germany, a hotbed of football. Let’s face it, the youth system and nurturing of talent in Germany is second to none, I’d be happy for us to tap into that market and get players of the quality of Ludewig again.
I've been thinking about this Loko. You raise some valid points: All we know is that the Board trust him, and so did Struber. I've asked a few people what Murray has done wrong but it's always "I can't say. don't want to get people in trouble." Well, to me, that's not enough for a fanbase to get the pitchforks out and tear down a young coach's career. If it's that bad then just put it out there. If it's truly backstabbing then surely its in the wider interests of the club to disclose what happened. We've got no reason to believe that the former BFC employee, or any poster on here, is lying, ill-informed, or being anything but concerned for the club they love, but we also have no evidence. The only reasonable thing we can do is go on public knowledge and hope that if there are any backstabbings or misgivings, that they come out in due time.
I dont want to waste time waiting to see in all honesty. If the board want to give him a go , so be it and I'll back him but if he isnt their choice I want them to hurry up and appoint whoever it is they do want, the season is already well under way and we don't want to be cut adrift already.
Guilty your honour. Still don’t think he’ll get it though. Reckon the game at the weekend will be his last as manager on this stint
Agree with that - we're in the middle of four games in ten days and there just doesn't seem to have been the urgency to get it done. Now, there might be all sorts of paddling under the water going on that we can't see but it just doesn't feel like we've moved with purpose. You have to think that the best time by far to make the appointment was in the last international break - if we don't get it sorted until the next international break a quarter of the season will have gone, as opposed to just 4 games. Even if we do appoint before the next international break there is little or no chance for the new guy to do any work as there are games every 3-4 days. I don't know Murray from Adam (pun intended) and so have no view on his suitability as a person or the veracity of past rumours about him. I didn't think he did that good a job last time and would prefer others from a footballing perspective but if the Board think Murray's right then get on and do it asap and he'll have my backing.
Ben be careful what you promise ....I recall 5 woman and their husbands banging on our front door the day after we won promotion to the premier league.......having claimed if Barnsley got promoted I'd show my bare ar5e on the town hall steps.....true to my word I went with them to the town hall steps where there was a larger crowd awaiting me most with video cameras at the ready....even a police officer amongst them..... Yes down came the pants to a very large cheer.......not a pretty sight I can tell you lol
When at pit. I once said “I’ll show my arse at the top ot winder.” Can’t remember my quote as to why. But I duly obliged.
You'll make more headlines than Harry Grayson retiring if you go through with it I can see us losing tonight which will make it less likely to happen.
I know mate. No joy playing Stoke away. Stranger things have happened but regardless of the result we should have identified our Head Coach this week and have everything in motion to announce him within the next five days
