I agree on that,

the sites look dodgy as **** on firefox. Don't think I can get used to it.

    Cheers

    it's an adequate alternative.

I'm gonna try and get used to it anyway to see which one really is better.

    No they don't!

It is faster, isn't integrated with Windows, has some "couldn't do without" add-ons, is compliant with standards, can be custromised and is open source. Probably doesn't get attacked by hackers as much either.

I have no particular problem with Microsoft. Apple for example are just as bad if not worse with their aggressive marketting, closed architecture and let's face it, over-priced goods.

    You can...

drag and drop your bookmarks into any order you want by the way... they don't have to be alphabetical.

    RE: You can...

Managed to work that one out eventually (doh)

I'm actually beginning to really like it though. Especially the add ons, some great ones.

    Yes, easy

First create a new folder - call it, say, startups.

Then copy the bookmarks to your chosen sites into that folder.

Then when you start Firefox, right click on that folder and click 'open all in tabs'.

I have 5 sites in mine and they all open simultaneously on their own tabs.

    There's also

a skin (vista-aero) which makes Firefox look like IE7 if you're used to the layout of IE. It also adds the "new tab" tab to the right of your tabs.

I say it's available... it was for Firefox 2 but I think we'll have to wait a while for it to be updated to be compatible Firefox 3.

    Thanks

    just done it.

Just encountered something else now though. When I first set it up I didn't choose to make it my default browser and now I want to. I can't find how to make it the default browser, do you know how?

    It's at the bottom of

    Tools > Options > Advanced

You check if the browser is default and then presumably change it.

    Cheers both

I'd been into the advanced section and not seen that bit because I hadn't seen the 'general' tab

There's a much easier way than that

Open the pages you want to open at start up in their separate TABS. Click Tools>Options make sure that the Main section is opened and click 'use current pages'. Easy Peasy.
