If we can get a transfer fee for Collins and get Isted in on a free, it’s an absolute no brainer for me. I guess Harry will need to decide if he wants more money but to potentially sit on the bench/in the background at championship level or come here and play every game in hopefully another successful season for us. I’d hope he’s had enough of not playing games in his career.
I wouldn't pay higher wages for Isted than Collins. If Brad is looking to move on then yes I'm happy to have Harry!
Id ove Mad s to stay and get the chance to lift the league one champions trophy. Can't begrudge him a move but really hope he stays with us!
I just can't see it. On both sides. Keeping him would cost around £2m next season I reckon, in both salary and lost transfer fee. I just don't think we can afford to lump that chunk of our budget on one player. We could bring 3 or 4 players in with that. Quality of L1 strikers is largely very poor, and I genuinely don't think we need a very expensive centre-half.
The thing that hopefully goes in our favour is even though he is 26 he has never really played regularly so hopefully having had a taste of it here he prioritises that. Should also remember aside of 3 games in he Championship for Lutonplaying for us is the highest level he has played.
If Isted comes, it will be the signing of the season. Without doubt for me. And I'd genuinely pay a lot more in wages to get him to come. I've harped on enough about keepers but this guy imho is the real deal. Best since Steele.
too much of a risk for me. not seen anywhere near the workrate or physicality duff demands. he's just not that type of striker, to be fair to him.
A deal may have already been reached in principal' i would imagine Isted knew what his future was at Luton a while back' maybe Duffs spoken to him and its getting sorted' fingers crossed.
I guess time will tell. If I were a betting man, I’d say he won’t make the grade at Cardiff, he’ll get released with plenty of coin in his pocket and will end up L1 level. Whether that’s in England or another country. I wish him well like.
