Boris Johnson has been prime minister but I can think of about 60 million people who are more pm quality than he is

I think people are being way too harsh on collins. he's been a good keeper for us. isted has had a couple of games. way too early to be saying he's 'clearly championship quality' for me. we don't even know if he's clearly league 1 quality yet. isted could drop a couple of howlers next week and people would be on here giving it 'that's why luton let him go'

It's not being harsh Marc it's just an honest opinion. I've nothing against Collins per se. But what I've seen from this lad up to now leads to more confidence not only from fans but the players around him.
Has championship quality and looks championship quality (at this stage) btw are different. I've seen goalies in the past who have shone then fallen by the wayside.

I think Collins is a very good sweeper Keeper playing the role that val asked of him. I think in the seasons before and after that though he's been an extremely poor shot stopper.

Think about it like this. What is the last good save you remember him pull off? Now compare that with how many good saves Isted has pulled off in just a few matches

Harry Isted has looked very good in his games, full of confidence, but for the life of me I don’t see why that means some people take it as an excuse to go open season on Brad Collins.

Collins was one of the few who showed any competence last season, and was a key part of the team that made the playoffs in the championship the season before, pretty much ever present in the second half of that season.

I will say this though - when there was debate about Collins and Walton I couldn’t see any argument for Walton. I just didn’t see what some did, to me he looked no more than competent, nothing great at all. Had nothing against Jack but I can’t see him going on to be a regular at championship level.

With Isted, already, it is different. I would imagine Collins might have to wait to get the shirt back, and if not he’ll have to justify his selection every week. Isted I suspect is much better than Luton thought though, if they feel Walton is a better bet.

We must try and sign him permanently - though if he stays in the team and continues to perform as he has we might have competition for his services.

When Collins’ injury has cleared up I’d have no issue with either being selected. That’s Duff’s headache though.

Collins was probably our best player last season. He had a lot to do under 2 inept managers and a losing team, short of confidence. Isted has come into a winning side a league lower, it's a different scenario. No reason he can't kick on and become a championship player but I don't see why everyone is suddenly saying Collins is a poor keeper.

fair do's. opinions innit. I suspect part of the reason Walton was let go, was that he never really looked like he'd put collins under serious pressure. that's never good for a #1. they need pushing. so maybe collins has suffered a bit from not having that. dunno. would be great to see isted and collins pushing each other now.

It's not open season on Collins mate. its opinions on the qualities of goalkeepers.

.The number of times people tried to ridicule such as myself for having a different opinion were imo, ill thought out. Trotting out the same lines. " he's played in the championship" " You are in a minority so you must be wrong" "He won poy"

Re the Isted position. The lad wants 1st team football. And was 2nd or even 3rd fiddle to their (luton) present No1. (Who is on loan I believe) Tis possibly why luton allowed Isted out given Walton was going nowhere according to Duff without a replacement. He may well go back as 1st choice if he re-signs for em. Dependent on his displays for us. ?
He's played 3 games for luton probably in cup competitions in 6yrs. How many on here would use some of the arguments put forward about Collins, to bring him straight back in when fully fit. ?.

Then again. so did Walton. And I dont think either of them are championship 1st choice quality. The type of football we played. Played the most significant part where neither goalie were tested as such. And especially when Dike arrived putting even less pressure on the defence.
Although, I'd argue Walton definitely was the season before, when he played out of his skin. And one of, if not, the main reason we stayed up. The main reason I preferred him. Seeing what he was capable of.

But in the relegation we had 2 clowns for head coaches and alot of games Collins did well at keeping the score down and it been a total embarrassment.

You said one helped us get to league one meaning Collins but he had a good season and often kept the score down. You can have a opinion on him as a keeper but the relegation was down to many things brad Collins is way down the list.

Be interesting to know what Luton are thinking about Isted's performances. Would be get more chances for them next season?

If its your opinion having Collins in goal was a big reason we went down last season I give up.

Ffs. Read it again. it was in response to a previous post. Quoting championship quality because he played in it. Not imho. What more can I say.
You stick to yours and leave me to mine. Imho you are one of the most opinionated on here and that has to be respected . But you very rarely respect others opinions that differ.
Marc at least did. Once he understood where I was coming from. Having a Difference of opinion can be respected. You are like a dog with a bone imo.
Are you a WUM. You brought Collins into the debate. Or his best mate. ?
    Have a good day.
