It may be just that example you used. Its why i have been dissapointed by these global businessmen. Dont get me wrong, i dont want them out or anything like that. I just expect more...a lot more. It seems their sum is greater than their parts.
Well they aren’t categorically promising that Danny Wilson is staying as manager on relegation from the Premiership when they knew all along he wasn’t or categorically saying Administration wasn’t on the cards then a few days later announce Admin , as cowboys they have a lot to learn
Cheers Steve much appreciated for the information and time spent on relaying what took place at the meeting.... So big thank yous Personally I feel their mistakes are nothing other than calculated planing..and further in my opinion . They knew what they were doing from the start... Their so called plan works better in league one, where there's less overheads less wages which create bigger profits to be made on player sales.... If they had really wanted to stay in this division they would have sorted the mess out from the summers poor recruitment drive in the January window ...No one will convince me otherwise that our summer recruitment drive wasn't anything but planning for league one because it certainly wasn't championship standard... Their mindset for me was a case of..... A season of championship experience under their belt will work wonders for the plan... Next season half a team of raw donkey's the other half full of promise and profit keeps it ticking over.... But at the same time keeps us where they really want us.. Never mind the sound bites from Conway... Who might I add will most likely be applying for the lead role in the next remake of The invisible man such is vast experience of late at Oakwell If its right what I've read re increase of directors payments... Then that's proof enough for me what their plan is and in my opinion it's not to the benefit of Barnsley football club... They've done nothing to deserve an increase What we see as success is a million miles away from what Conway and Co deem as success..... Once again just my opinion they've done nothing to the benefit of our club... Wake up boys and girls... Their excuses don't hold water... Compleat shambles now both on and off the pitch.. Again...
I cant work him out - there is no doubt he is passionate about the club but he has a few strange ideas/prejudices. He was sat directly behind me at the cup game v Tottenham at Wembley and nearly bit my head off when I mentioned to a mate that I didn't think Ugbo was ready for our level and the few times Ugbo did something reasonable he tapped me on the shoulder to point them out. got a bit tiresome - Not sure what happened to Ugbo but Tammy Abraham he wasnt
Did anybody talk about the imminent reduction in season ticket sales, as has been mentioned many times on here, and how the board would react to this. Surely they are not expecting us to stumble blindly and ignorantly into another catastrophe.
Similar to the time I became aware of who he was. He was sat directly behind me at our Halifax Town pre season friendly in 2014 on his own. Occasionally he'd lean forward and get involved in conversation with the group I was with which was great as it's good to talk to other fans that you don't know. But then imagine my surprise when that very Saturday he made a ranting thread on here about the views me and those I was with had about certain players. If I remember correctly it was Danny Rose we didn't think would be good enough for us (proved right). The thread was a good read at the time but I never replied in it.
Yes, that was mentioned. Obviously they're aware that relegation will see a reduction in sales. He quoted the figures following the last relegation and spoke about the deficit covered by the owners. The decrease in revenue is significant and will have an impact, which is why I think they definitely want to stay in the Championship. They've just made a total hash of it imo, failing to recruit a squad capable of competing at this level...
Andersen for Pinnock and Schmidt for Moore are the key errors, plus losing Diaby hasn't helped. He said all the key players are on long contracts, apart from Mowatt who has been offered an extension. They want to keep them all and will only accept major bids that would allow them to buy 1 or 2 quality replacements. I asked about Woodrow in terms of only accepting big money as even top strikers in League One were going for millions... Time will tell.
I'll judge them by their actions after the last relegation. After that they kept the squad together and mounted a promotion push. They have all the figures at their disposal and I can't see why that can't happen again. My problem is I'm sick of the rinse and repeat and am questioning why bother?
I do think the club has an identity problem though. I think they should set out what the mantra is long term. Are we to just yo-yo between League 1 and the Championship recycling youth prospects with the odd cup run? Or are we going to have a push at the Championship and a tilt at the Premier League? At least then when I sign up to a season ticket finance plan I know what I'm signing up for.
Ike Ugbo is presently out on loan again from parent club Chelsea. He's playing in the Dutch Eerste Divisie for Roda JC. He's been involved in twenty eight games and scored thirteen goals. For us, he netted once in the sixteen games he featured in. When he left us he went in loan to MK Dons (2 goals, 15 appearances) and Scunny ( 1 goal, 15 appearances). Agree with the majority of our fans who following his involvement in the England U20's and their success in the Toulon tournament, were disappointed in his performances in the Red of Barnsley. He unfortunately failed to live up to his advanced hype which was a pity really . Three years on at the age of twenty one, it would be interesting to learn whether his game has improved any. He's certainly been more prolific goals wise, but we don't know of course the standard of football he's playing at in Holland. You would think that given the transfer embargo that existed at Stamford Bridge, if he could offer Lampard something better than what he had already had, unless there wasn't a recall clause in his loan deal, he might have brought him back from Holland and included him in Chelsea's first team matchday squad, particularly as they currently have a fairly long injury list.
that sounds very similar to the only time ive met him, we were at wimbledon and i happened to mention i though Thiam had won a raffle, Hemsy took great delight in tapping me on the shoulder after he had scored, he obviously failed to mention he had done f all else all day except watch his man run past him. i never knew it was hemsy at the time
I’m nearly sure it was Hemsy. Last time I saw him was at one of these events. He was sat down last time I saw him and he had his pint resting on the floor - I accidentally put mi size 14 booit through his pint and skittled it across the floor.
