ah but science has 100% imposed itself on our society. Take the covid narrative, from the beginning we were desperately implored to 'trust the science.' It's the same as belief. 'Trust in God' is swapped out for 'trust the science.' And didn't science's 'modelling' do us the world of good. Science imposed itself on all areas of society, it was on every night at 6 with Vallance and Whitty, and the moral authority was that if you don't comply you will be outcast and dismissed as a nutter/conspiracy theorist/extremist, or all three if you don't 'trust the science.' Funny thing is that science is largely theoretical, and trusting it because Boris Johnson tells you to can be a challenging hurdle to overcome, particularly with hindsight. As for scientists being content with the 'I don't know' line, that seemed to go out of the window the last 24 months - they seemed to know everything before it had even happened, and even then were often wide of the mark.

What astonishes me is that I went to the tip on the off chance to find it was actually open. And to cap it all, there was only one other car there. :)

“Science is neutral” - now that is a fairy story.
