The winger that couldn't cross and midfielder that couldn't tackle or pass but we always seemed to pick up points when he played. He scored some cracking goals too.
Sad, but true. I love going to Scarborough for the day, but driving past the houses that now stand where the stadium was always makes me thankful that we still have our club.
Pretty much but it's because not all teams have played the same amount of games, if teams have games in hand it would benefit them. Bowyer has come out and criticised the idea of ending the season in this was as he says charlton have only been in the relegation zone 6 days all season and the system would see them down.
Dont like Lee Bowyer but he has a totally valid point here - I think its wrong to relegate us but is more likely than not we would have gone down had the season finished normally. I dont think you can say the same about Charlton - I think Hull were more likely to go down than they were but we cant really know.
Aye, but Charlton are stuggling to pay player wages (again) due to more boardroom nonsense. They would have probably ended up with a points deduction anyway.
I think we may claw back the points based on being better on the day than a fair few teams over this season but being let down at crucial times by silly individual errors that the team have significantly cut down on. We also have goals in the team and other teams may lose some of their better, out of contract players before playing starts again. Having said that, from Harry Kane to the Luton kit washer, it’s a health and safety risk to get these people back in close contact with others whilst a points per game outcome is based on nothing but guesswork as to how the final significant chunk of the season would play out.
