You say you don't understand why people out the country down but then say that it's gone to the dogs...
I think people have missed the point completely. I wasn't comparing the virtues of both cities I was comparing prices between the two clubs. It's a ****ing disgrace that you can travel a thousand miles or so to watch a game in Germany for a similar cost of one arsenal match ticket. I don't bum German football. I bum the German football model. No foreign owners. No one entity can own a club out right emphasise on developing players that qualify for Germany rather than stock piling teenagers from all over the world. Fans come first in Germany. Which is how it should be.
I'm in that London. Right now. As we speak. I went for dinner (they call it 'lunch') yesterday, and paid £22 for a salmon fillet and a pint of Peroni. I've just woke up, in a bed, in a room smaller than my kitchen. It cost £151 for the night. No one will talk to me today. I'll say 'good morning' to someone as I walk to work. Just as a social experiment. They will look at me like i've just broke in their house and pi$$ed on their kids. The train ticket cost £255 return. The Tate Modern is my only sanctuary there. London sucks the life out of me.
Each to their own. I've lived in London twice, latest spell for 7 years and I love the place and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I don't understand the comments from people who say it's a dump. It's a huge city and yes there may be parts of the city which aren't as nice as others, but that's the same everywhere. But there are more parks, pubs, bars, restaurants, markets and shops than you know what to do with. Arts, sport, festivals, music, food, theatre, film. Amazing architecture new and old and historic sites and attractions. I can see how it can be a scary place, especially if alone. My first spell was about 2 yrs and I did feel isolated. But when you get out and about there are some amazing places. Hampstead, Notting Hill, Holland Park, Mayfair, Kings Road, Battersea, Islington, Dulwich, Camden, Primrose Hill, Canary Wharf, Greenwich, Borough Market, Shoreditch and so many more. But maybe I just tend to see the good in places wherever that may be.
I didn't realise he was comparing the 2 cities, I thought he was comparing the price of a ticket at both clubs!
Totally agree about Paris - one of the most over-rated cities I've been to. That picture is definitely Dortmund:- http://www.landenweb.eu/city/dortmund-information-tourist-attractions-weather-history.cfm
London isn't even one of the best cities in England nevermind Europe. It's overcrowded, high crime rate, expensive and has poor transport for a start. It's overated simply because it's the capital and it's where the Royal Family, parliment etc are based.
Thought this was about comparing ticket prices between Dortmund and Arsenal fc. Ted Bundy misses the point yet again shocker. Selective eyesight.
Twice over? So you think if Arsenal had a ground that could hold 120,000 they would sell it out? I reckon they would for a few big premiership games if they gave away followings 20,000 or so, but it wouldn't be owt like a sell out most weeks.
It's just The Gherkin building and the Natwest tower that give it away...not sure why they've used that photo on that site but it's definitely London that mate.
For the record, I agree with a number of others that London is a pretty horrible. I work there regularly, and it's one of those places that is good for a trip in, do the tourist bit and get out again - staying there and working there is a different matter and I hate it. I can go and work for a day in London and on the way home my bogeys are black!. Saying that, you can pull London down for lots of things, but I think it is invalid to suggest that it has poor transport. It has the best transport system of any city in this country for sure. A big percentage of people I know who live in London don't drive and don't own a car. Apart from the fact that driving a car around London is a nightmare and not worth the trouble, they feel that they don't really need to because the public transport is so effective.
