    Being sent home from school.....

Aah! Memories. I can well recall the days when it snowed really heavy and sometimes we would be sent home from White Cross cos the heater was playing up. Snowball fights on the way home etc....... Happy days indeed.

Quite a few schools up here...

Called off yesterday due to snow.

Most roads closed off, all the bridges shut, schools sent home, roads gridlocked.

All because it was slightly more slippy than usual! Unbelievable, if I can make it safely through snow on 2 wheels the rest of you have no excuse :)

RE: Well, 3 snowflakes would causes bedlam down here

my sister lives near brighton, the area is flat as the proverbial fa... you know what I mean. We were at her house probably 7-8 years ago when there was the lightest dusting of snow on the floor, I mean about 1 cm. Her friends down there were dressing up like they were about to scale everest and muttering about how they wouldn't be able to get home. I looked at my sister in disbelief , she told me that that was the first time some of her friends had ever had to drive in the snow. I gave the sympathetic response of 'Soft southern Barstewards'
