Yet there was outrage, when The Don commented on his frustration at keyboard warriors attacking the Club at any opportunity. I think we know exactly the kind of individuals he was referring to.
From what I can gather he comes across well at these meetings Mr C but doesn't do too much about it afterwards #newscoreboard #barinpontyend
To come out with a statement like that when we have spent the vast majority of out history in the this division is quite frankly Ridiculous Andy Ritchie got slated for saying it was doubtful we would ever get back in the premiership, that was a far more realistic view that one that more or less say we are lucky to by in the Championship
It's not Albert's fault. It's our Lord and Saviour's fault. Small time thinking is holding the club back.
Have you ever had the misfortune to have to deal with him? i have and believe me, you wouldn't be defending him so vociferously if you had.
Does anyone really care what Don says on telly? He probably said more besides, but he doesn't edit the programme and the BBC will always chose the most flattering statements of the football/premier leagues. Personally, I think it has been a privilege for the Championship/2nd tier to be blessed with Barnsley's presence for so long - bit that's neither here nor there. Don is 70 years old. I met him briefly when I was down Oakwell buying City tickets with my dog. He was unloading his car and carrying heavy boxes into the club by himself. I repeat, Don is 70 years old. This might give you an idea of his glamourous day to day routine of running the club. This elderly gentleman, also regularly puts in 12-14 hour days, 18 hours on transfer deadline day by all accounts. I also understand he is a reluctant manager and is doing this job because he has been asked to, until a time when the club is ready to be handed over to new owners. Don is old school, a practical, pragmatic overseer. Making sure the bills are paid and the club carries on trading through difficult times. We don't have the super slick operations and marketing teams that other Championship clubs have. But the ones that do are either bank-rolled to the ears or millions in debt.
I couldn't have put it any better Mr C. If we had a clapping emoticon I would be using it now but we don't so this will have to do <applause>.
No, I was saying don't personally abuse someone for doing their job. And if anyone has a question about the club or an issue they would like to express, they should attend one of the regular meetings with Don Rowing. Likewise, if a certain person would like to call him a ****wit in relation to a tv interview, then at least have the balls to say it to his face. I'm sick of reading things like that on this board, especially from anonymous people who hide behind a username and who no-one ever lays eyes on. Any worker, in any industry, has the right to carry out their duties free from abuse and mistreatment. People fought for that right. Some of us are still fighting. If anyone isn't happy with the job Don is doing, then yes - write a letter to Cryne and tell him why.
