Bookies predicted us to go down in 96/97 and Watford last year.

RE: That's never right surely ?

I dont think they are, OCA owe the money. But OCA only have two ways to make any money back. Charge rent to the club, or build on the land. Im pretty sure that both of these will be happening in the not too distant future.

If they got everything bang on all the time nobody would ever bet but I'd go with their expertise over blind optimism any day.

We're weaker now than we were last season and without improvement we haven't a cat in hell's chance of staying up.

OCA had to buy the assets for £5m the council and PC bought the shares in OCA for £2m each (a total of £4m) which under normal circumstances will not be repaid to them so it is effectively 'dead money'. They also loaned OCA funds of which approx £1.5m is outstanding and is the amount I have stated.

I just think this is another average league ,

I dont think its as strong as last season.

The teams that have gotten relegated are not as good as the teams that have got promoted to the Premier League.

There has been massive upheavel at a lot of teams , so in my opinion I think we have a decent chance of doing quite well this season.

This is obviously dependent upon our players stepping up , but as they havent played any league games yet then no one actually knows yet.

I think we need 2 or 3 more players, BUT

I believe our first XI is okay and is good enough to survive should it stay injury free. I think we need to add a midfielder - hopefully Healy - and a goalscorer, and we'll be fine.

I firmly believe the likes of Reidy, Kay, Bobby, Howard, McIndoe, Disco, Hayesy etc can cut it in the Championship.

Sucessful businessman he may be.but he has about the same football experience as Young Nudger

Hence no players of quality tempted to come to Oakwell.

That Abramovich has no football experience either

OK, I'll concede he does have other incentive options.

Sorry, I was just being flippant, but a serious question . . .

Does he get value for money? Not very shrewd in financing Chelsea, I would suggest. Mind you, I suppose the losses are easily swallowed.

Money is nowt to him is it

He looks happy enough. Happiness is what we all strive for I guess, so I imagine he is getting value for money.

    I see

Young Nudger's been the chairman of a successful football club for a season and a half?

Isn't it down to money and not a lot else the tempting of quality players? Oh and the fantastic training facilities!

I think there's a lot more to it than that

Hignett, for example, would not have touched us with a bardge pole had it not been for Hendrie. Shipperley came because of Bassett. McPhail because of Ridsdale. And say what you like about John Dennis, but him and Wilson tempted a lot of very good players to Oakwell. It wasn't just money.

Where in my posting did I

indicate that I do not care about the club?

How on earth did you reach that conclusion?
