Ah, I can see where you're going wrong.

You need to Google "Crown Estate" and have a little brush-up.

Well, it's what Thatcher called it....

    so probably yes.

Can you sequestrate something you already "own"?

Well, the public "bought" what they already "owned" so I guess so...

So do they own Buck Palace or not...

and if it is "Crown Estate" owned by the Crown, that means it is State Owned already. or summat.

i can remember when the deal was struck regarding the Crown Estate.

And I remember thinking at the time that it wouldn't be long before the fact that we make roughly three times what we hand over would soon beforgotten and people would start grumbling about the Civil List. They must wonder what they've got to please us. Jesus Christ on a Raleigh Chopper, if they think we're thick I don't blame them.

Elizabeth Sax Coberg only owns Balmoral and Sandringham

The rest of them are in some form of trust which was probably established as some kind of tax avoidance racket.

In simple terms they belong to "the state"

But defining what the "state" means is probably a difficult constiututional arguement in a monarchy.

Without reading through all this lot..£41M spent by the state is £41M - its nothing to do with tax

We spend £41 million on them
Which could be used for more needy causes
And they earn money from their landownership etc etc far far greater than £41 million ........that money could be used to fund themselves i.e. employing ALL of the people that they currently employ
But they choose not to do that

So WTF is that to do with income tax...........please explain ???

So what you are saying is that the royal family has no personal income............. :pff

What I'm saying is that the queen takes our money even though she is one of the richest people in the world
What a backward country we are

    That's exactly what I've ralised.

I accept there are pro's to the Royal Family. I personally feel the cons outweigh 'em. Why can't you accept that?

In the grand scheme of things £41m isn't a lot of money. Half a Ronaldo. The figures seem to show that us having a Royal Family like we do brings money into the country. So not a bad investment really. And I have no interest in them.

£41M aint a lot........but its more than what was claimed by all MPs

.........so it puts MPs expenses into perspective dunt it

And before anyone says that MPs were stealing...........they wern't, they were getting paid through official sources
The system was wrong and the MPs just played along

Very similar to the Queens situation really

Don't you think all that should belong to the people though? You know, those that support 'The Crown'?

If they earn so much money privately why do we pay towards them?

All the earnings you've mentioned there could go to the govt to equal out the massive amount of money you say they make us and that we wouldn't be able to make otherwise.

I'd rather have President Thatcher than Queen Elizebeth

A president on a free vote from MPs........sounds good to me

And thats how the house of lords should be appointed as well - MPs on a free vote voting for people who have something to offer the country

    one last question...

if the Queen has such a personal wealth from the Crown Estate why does the tax payer fund her? Shouldn't they be self sufficient?

I wouldn't have a problem if they did. It's the fact people keep telling me they've loads of assets yet they ask the government for money to fund certain aspects of their lives.

    F.ck em.
