I'm sure the original post was innocent enough but agree with the responses. Proper football lies ahead and I can't wait

I'm not disrespecting any other club, but I'm of the opinion that there is only one club in our division next season that I'd deem bigger than us. It's the Blunts. After that, there's a few of a similar stature (Bradford, Bristol City, Coventry). One of them has no home.

I'm not being deluded, or arrogant by saying that.

I've spent most of my 26 seasons being a supporter of 'the likes of' Barnsley. Tinpot Barnsley against the big boys. No expectations. No ambition. We should 'know our place' etc.
Well **** that. For the first time as a reds supporter I will be going into next season half expecting/hoping for us to win every week at home, and to finish in the top six. We're the big dogs now. Why shouldn't we enjoy this?

I'll not be saying "we should be beating [insert smaller club name here]". But I will be confident.

I'm using next season as a rare opportunity to be ambitious, to expect, to hope for a promotion. I wasn't allowed that the last time we went down because we nearly had no club/players to watch.

If others want to be worried, cautious, or fear upsetting folk, that's their lookout.

I'm not going full Wednesdayite or owt, but I'm a lifelong supporter of THE second tier stalwart club. If I can't be a tad confident and ambitious next season then when the **** can I?

Bring it on. We'll piss it. :)

I've never seen us win away despite 50+ trips so can't wait for next season. I'll be going to about 10 games I'd imagine so surely I'll see at least one win

Got to say i agree with Whitey on this.

Blunts will be 'bigger' than us in League 1 but who else? Arguably Coventry because of their history, but now they haven't got their own ground to play in so I think that makes us pretty equal at the minute.

Other than that I think there are a few that are of a similar stature to ourselves, but there's hardy anyone 'bigger' than us.
