reading norwich swansea have all signed players from lower leagues and gone up.

**** em, they're only Port Vale fans, what do they know? **** all that's what. I'll take the judgement of our negative moaners who've never seen him play over those pottery inbreds every time.

Do you think that last sunday Man city fans were all thinking they would beat Swansea, ie a team full of lower league players??

When Swansea gained promotion to the championship they invested in the squad with a mix of experience and talented younguns and that investment paid off.

Ok then Norwich - mostly made up of players that played in league 1.

The teams that are coming up and doing well are investing in their 1st team by buying players for money and not continually relying on unproven players to come up trumps game after game. The teams that are looking likely to get promoted to the championship for next season will invest as well, so unless we do strengthen with experienced quality players then we will be in for an even bigger struggle next season.

The core of our first team all have championship experience. There's only three players who we've signed from the lower league who have consistently been first choice when fit, Perkins, McNulty and Davies, who have all been worth their position

Experienced and proven championship players are either wanted by other clubs with more money or are past it

Given your views on lower league players, I find it strange that you have taken your name from a player we got from Darlington, a team that were two divisions lower than BFC when he signed.

He does sound promising. That said it's some genuine creative quality further forward that we need.

What's changed? We had no money then and we've got none now. Just because we were able to shop at Waitrose for a few seasons, it does not mean that when our circumstances change we can continue to shop at Waitrose. We were an ALDI club then and we are an ALDI club now, and no amount of complaining will change that fact.

Given the right management, and Hill may well be that, I believe that you can build a Championship side from lower league players. I've said before that I believe that almost every club in the lower league will have at least 1 or 2 players that can make the grade in the Championship, it's all about having the people that can spot which ones there are.
We've complained for years about why other clubs seem to be able to pick up young, lower league, gems for next to nothing and why can't we do it.
As for needing signings that will get the fans flooding back - well just signing "proven" Championship players won't do that - you'd need to do something like Cardiff when they brought in Bellamy.

Re: Name one manager in history who hasn't signed a flop

Later in his career he did but I dont remember any of Clarkes signings in his first stint being flops

I do remember we werent impressed with one R Glavin on first impressions though.

But seriously I take your point - Even Sir Alex has signed players who havent worked out as expected at Man U though he gets a lot more right than wrong
