I've not seen a replay of the Jennings tackle, but...

Premiership teams have learned how to play the ref. They gather around an incident, acting it up and making the ref believe he has missed something significant from his angle of view. However, rather than complaining about it, I believe that we should learn from these incidents. In other words, rather than playing fair, we need to learn how to play the ref.

That was not that a sending off. He made the tackle with his right foot. The Wigan player was coming in at the ball from an angle. He actually came in late on Jenning's.

At no point were both of Jenning's feet attacking the ball.

Sorry mate but that is not a sending off in my opinion. Wigan players 'helped' the ref make his decision.

What about the free kick they got in th first few minutes when Goldbourne went for the ball near the byline and the Wigan right back clattered him and the ref gave Wigan a free kick. Shocking ref.

And incidentally was Jennings supposedly detach his other leg after making a challenge? Sometimes when you try to make a challenge with one leg the other leg tends to follow considering it's attached to his body

I agree, but I believe the referee made the correct decision.

Don't necessarily agree with the 'Premiership hounding of the ref' statement though, it happens at every level of English football.

If you agree that he only used one foot then how can you also agree that it was a red card?

Didn't look like a red from the back of the Ponty and that video pretty much proves it, IMHO. I'd be straight down the Football League with the match tape to get that rescinded. Bloody ridiculous decision.

I had the same view more or less as the camera and it didn't deserve a red card. The ball was loose and they both went for it, it was a bit rash and a yellow at worse. At first me & shenk thought it was bargy after that got him sent off, even then we tried to argue the case that it was Watson who started it, but he got away with it all afternoon.

thats exactly why going to ground leading with your legs is outlawed and seen as reckless and dangerous

My point exactly, Watson gets 3 warnings without ever getting a yellow card and yet dictates to the referee that Jennings should his marching orders

Well, I've just watched it umpteen times and I can't see what part of Jennings' challenge caused their player to fall over. Jennings' right foot got the ball and his left foot was the other side to where their player was. Wigan's players were very quick to surround the referee and make more of it than it was and the referee bought it. Even after watching it repeatedly I reckon we could get that one overturned.

It looked to me as if he'd left the ground, it was reckless. Something I'd expect from Dawson.

If that was a tackle on a Barnsley player your opinion would be totally different.
