To what I can gather, hemstiger is trying to convince everyone on here that Steele and hassell are each worth 2 year contracts

He is raising Steele and Hassels profile with more and more posters sympathising with the players over reduced terms.

Doesn't stop the usual subjects getting wound up. Even when he's spot on.

I haven't got involved because it's tedious but how is he spot on? Steele is worth a longer contract albeit on reduced terms befitting of our budget so fair enough on that. But Bobby, did you not see his performances at the end of last season? He is worth a 2 year contract based on his ability still, no sentiment involved, again on reduced terms if he is a top earner. Fact is nobody knows what they earn or what they have been offered so to suggest he is spot on is nonsense.

...by starting a new thread on the subject and writing 8 paragraphs.

Similarly I tried to keep out of Scotland last week by going to Edinburgh for a few days, eating haggis and drinking whiskey.

Just as is suggesting he's talking ****, has mental issues and should crawl under a stone.

Steele and Hassell have been asked to take a pay cut. The decision RE Hassell is spot on - squad player but would like to see him stay around. Steele should get a two year deal but he hasn't. Flitcroft obviously rates him but maybe thinks the couple of thousand difference in his wage v Alnwick is better spent on someone else. His decision.

If my gaffer told me I'd be getting anything over a 50% pay decrease I don't think I'd feel wanted/rated.

    Your logic is flawed.

But you're right, it's his decision. Let's hope it's the right one because the way this Summer has started I'm struggling to see us losing Steele, Foster, Hassell, Cranie and O'Grady as a great beginning to this 'new era' ********.

Seems the same old **** to me.

Whitey Football players are self employed.

He got given a contract for x number of years and now it's come to a end. We are offering them another contract on less money because of things have changed. It happens all the time.

They are not self employed. They are employed by football clubs.

And I'm well aware that they've been offered reduced terms. And I'm not against that.

    End of debate.

If I knew I was getting paid more than other workers and doing less work (Hassell - squad player) or that the club couldn't afford my current contract (Steele) I'd see it coming.

Flitcroft thinks Alnwick is good enough. He's been right about everything else.
