He's a great replacement in that he's not Leroy Lita. And having asked fans of his previous two clubs this season, they are very positive about him. They admit he's not going to score often, but then, neither does Waring but we all like him. He apparently brings others into play, a target man who creates for others. I suppose we'll have to see. But aye, I think he's a great replacement for the worst striker I've seen here in years who hasn't contributed since August.

A great player? A great striker/scorer? Probably not, judging him on his career thus far. Great replacement for a laiker we didn't want.

He was their POTY last year. He didn't want to be there, asked for a move (prior to his Oldham loan). Doesn't get along with Humes. According to their supporters.

Playing for a better team and in front of three times more home fans than his parent club might just spur him on some more.

Just what I was wondering! Very odd signing that, but willing to give him a chance, just like any other player. No harm in having competition for places provided when they do get their chance they grab it with both hands. No time for any more coasters at the club.

Think he's been looking for a move and fell out with manager. Their fans like him. Seems to have pace and power and creates openings for others to put away. Sometimes players just click. If we have a big fast forward working his knackers off then will certainly take some pressure off midfield. And if we have Winnall next to him that sounds good. Be Ibhero or Waring up top with Winall I imagine. Only question is who misses out. Lalkovic dropped, Scowen out wide and Hourihane in middle.

Will wait and see. We should have too much for Walsall if we get at them from the start.

When I first heard this I thought it would be competition for Waring or a backup if Waring got injured

he may be a bit like

Emile Heskey ... good hold up player, good winner of the ball in the air.. have we a player to play off that sort of thing. I am of course assuming this, but the Colchester fans seem to back up my assumption .

Re: he may be a bit like

I think he will play Winnall and drop Lalkovic to bench. Not through Lalkovic doing much wrong but I think he will prefer Winnal playing off a big lad and will look to replace Waring with the new lad last 15-20 mins. However I am not sure if Winnal is match fit enough to start and can't see Waring and this new lad up front together. The one thing that does seem evident is that he seems to know exactly the type of players he wants, where we are out of balance as a squad and what formation(s) to play

    one thing for sure is

he certainly is not letting the grass grow .. he seems to be getting stuck in . And why not , we are 2 points outside the play-offs. Any person on this planet should be able to see that we have a good a chance as the rest to get in the play- offs. Just think what this would look like on Johnsons CV if we actually made them. Then also think what it would look like if we got up there and won through. I still say that Wilson did give us a very good set of players to go in the long term. What ever went wrong is always going to be debateable. But right now we are in a very good place to push onwards and upwards. The only thing that's held us down is our dreadful away form till now.

Don't know if you read message boards Jabo but if you do the very best of luck from a U's fan. Hope you can get your season and career back on track. Thanks for the effort you put in after you joined the U's. Always a great hard worker and it can't have been much fun playing as a loan striker having to chase after the ball first before trying to be a striker. Lots of fans appreciated your 100 per cent effort in games and wish you the best of luck.

You've done the right thing to get out of the total shambles that is Colchester United and I for one hope to see you prosper because you're a decent bloke and a good player. Who knows you might even have a professional manager in charge not the cretin you've left us with.

Sounds good from that. Hope more Us fans sign up here and share their view too. Shocked to see you the other day only getting 2,500. That's shocking for this level of football and for a team that was playing us in the championship not that long ago. New ground syndrome soon wore off.

Lowest ebb for many years and I'm not sure those in charge even care about it.
