Walton is a very good young keeper, who has made a number of great saves and made only 2 mistakes as i remember all season. Anyone on his back really needs to give their head a good shake.
Only trolls will have a pop at our better players. Is it because they are easy targets? Cauley Woodrow has had critical remarks made at him. Where would we be without him?
All players drop b0ll0cks... Young players, by nature are in consistent. When your both young and a goalie mistakes will be made.. but it normally ends up as a opposition goal.. As shambolic the goal at Hillsboro was, Walton as been excellent for the last six months and without him we wouldn't even be in the championship...
Can someone make a compilation video of all young Jack's saves, please. Might keep Scott quiet for a minute or two if he actually watches it. Fantastic goalkeeper. We're very lucky indeed to have him!
As obvious as all of this should be, it seems that some people (a minority, thankfully) just don't / refuse to get it.
It appears that won't do any good. In this instance, said person has made his mind up to only jump on his mistakes.
Sweeper keeper worked well last season and Jack looked fine with it, last 2 games he has come out and fluffed his lines by misjudging the situation it happens he will learn from it. As for crosses the lad went from punching to catching and did it well but seems to have gone back to punching at every opportunity. Wycombe mobbed him in the box at corners. and put him under pressure, Wendys did the same Setdi, coaches need to work on defending corners more IMO. I was glad to see Jack get the shirt once football started back up and nowt has made me change my mind.
Lucky not to get sent off today, why he thinks he can turn into a sweeper ‘keeper I don’t know.. last 4 games he’s been caught out with this and teams will start to suss him out soon. *cue the abuse...
I agree it was rather reckless but do we really need a thread on an individual player that gets bumped every time he does something that isn’t very good? If the answer to that is yes then surely we need threads for every other players just to make it fair?
He has to turn into a sweeper keeper, we play a high line without a great deal of pace in our back 3. He also came out and saved a certain goal
If he didn't come off his line then it would've been a one on one situation. And it was never a sending off as the player knocked it too far in front allowing defenders to get back. Made mistakes in previous weeks but don't think he did much wrong today. He made an excellent decision coming off his line early to prevent another one on one at another point in the game.
It's a good idea - a thread for every player. But even goalies say they're different - maybe they're the only ones deserving a thread of their own. Walton had no choice but to try and come and chase a few through balls today cos their striker was like a whippet up against turtles (Solly being turtle in chief).
They can certainly be described as a “different breed”. I agree, Ayew and Lowe had the pace advantage over our centre backs from the get go. I guess we maybe could’ve sat a bit deeper as a possible alternative? But I’m not going to critique the tactics of big Val. He certainly knows more than me and he’s bigger than me too!
No abuse here But if he hadnt swept up today we would have lost 4-0 guaranteed. We had an off day, but it didnt help that for whatever reason Mads and Helik both had the touch of a frustrated bishop.
