Jalo is 19 next month. I'd like to see him playing regularly for us. He has the potential to excite the fans, and we have certainly been short of excitement recently.
I’ve never seen him play either, but he played league 2 and Solina played league 1..... by your reckoning then a premier goalie having an average game should be replaced by a championship goalie who has a good game.
I think Jalo has progressed quite a lot from what I’ve seen this season. Lumping balls for him to chase isn’t going to get the best from him, but getting him 1 on 1 with a defender looks like a plan based on his recent appearances. Looks very much like the wide player in a front 3 to me, but how do we make that happen when we rely so much on Cotter for all our width?
I'm not sure a goalkeeper's job in League Two is that much different from League One. Thus far, I have not been impressed by Slonina, who doesn't command his area and whose kicking is very poor. I'm not suggesting that he can't improve, but I had been expecting better, in view of the large fee Chelsea paid for him. Smith may be a better option. As I have not seen him play, I cannot really make any judgement on that.
I think that's a little harsh on Slonina. The first few games he struggled with his area, but recently I think he's improved quite a bit. Last 2 games he's been good for us - definitely won us a point with that fantastic double save against Stockport, where he had to come out and command his area, and then made another save with his feet. His kicking is very hit and miss, some times it's fine, sometimes it's abysmal, but so are most keepers kicking in this league and below, all them of them. You'd imagine he will improve that throughout his career. His kicks tend to go out more when we're under severe pressure, so that needs addressing straight away mate - whether or not Clarke and the staff can manage that is another question.
I'd sooner we develop a goalie that is ours but Gaga has saved us quite a few points so for me I wouldn't necessarily drop him yet, a lot depends on how they present in training roo.

Yes I agree mate. Certainly kept us in it and I think last 3 games hes been one of better performers. He also commanded his box very well and probably punched the ball away more times than anyone in recent memory - probably because we gave a million corners away mind.

Allegedly but it’s the man’s game same as it should be women of the match in the ladies game. Very good!!.. maybe looked half decent cos the rest were so bad.. Awful dive tryung to con the ref into a penalty.. All our players seem to go down like a bag a 5'hite now.. Cosgrove's the worst. Is it being coached by our numerous coaches? Bit embarrassing at times..
