Brown is young with a handful of first team appearances under his belt. He may make a good player, he may not. One thing's for sure, he's going to be inconsistent until he gains experience. So far he's done well enough and contributed to the team. Can't ask more than that.

But last week he drifted past a defender with ease, and smashed one into the bottom corner, which will keep him in the managers good books.

He's a young lad still learning and will make mistakes. As long as he learns from them, he'll be fine.

Not as difficult as the paradoxical lone striker with someone else. Where not only do you have to deal with their centre halves you also have break the rules of logic.

I thought Brown did a good job against 2 big experienced central defenders and contributed to our winning performance - there I’ve said it.

SORRY. Brown & Williams deserve some support. They have been class . Grow up, you didn't see players, like I saw like Mick McCarthy, Ian Banks & John Stones, who didn't play as well as these lads in the last few games on their debuts. Grow a pair & shut up & let our young lads play.

Moncur was on the wing. Look at the goal. Hands on hips.

Kinell what’s George done to you like? It’s obviously something as you’ve had several digs at him today (even though he played well) and how you can blame him when someone else have a penalty away is beyond me.

Could just be a wum tbf

There's two ways of looking at this. How well someone played considering their lack of experience or whether that performance was actually good enough. Most people seem to be favouring the first one. We won this game despite of, not because of, the changes we had to make. If we have to keep playing Brown instead of Moore for any length of time we are going to start struggling. I also think we will lose more games than we win with Walton in the nets. We let the window close without any or adequate understudies for certain positions - goalkeeper, main striker and defensive midfielder. The fact that we still managed to win today doesn't alter any of this.

George did nothing in the last 30 minutes.

Obviously you are either his dad, or this is the first game you have watched.

Please remember me saying he was great in the first half. Sadly he has never turned up for 90 minutes,

Today he was mind blowing in the first half. He was Lord Lucan in the second. gh

Everyone has their own opinion. But I think your a bit harsh. His heading was great won many a header and the direction of flicks far better than I have seen from Moore. He passed the ball to Potts for the first. Made the run deep into the box pulling the defender back inside to provide the space for Mcgeehan goal, and if I'm not mistaken closed down the defender with the ball forcing the misplaced pass to Thiam for the third. Yes he snatched at his chances but on another day may well have scored. So for someone who had a mare. Involved in all three of our goals. Brown was also quick to close people down enabling our pressing game. Not such a bad effort against the inform team of the division.

I mean “obviously” right? But alas nope and nope.

His contributions in the last 2 games means, for me anyway, he is one of the last players I would be criticising. I agree he had a much quieter second half but would you not prefer a match winning first half and quiet second half rather than 2 “solid yet little impact” halves?

One of the things I was trying to point out was that we WON.

Moncur's set up for the second goal was Messi-esque.

Second half he was Lord Lucan.

    Same old.

Bit of a back-handed compliment that.
Maybe that's why he's at Barnsley rather than a Premier League club. If he could tackle back for 90 minutes as well as rip defenders apart up front he wouldn't be playing for us. Every player on the books has faults and has room for improvement but you seem to pick on Moncur every match.

In terms of back handed complements I'd have rather the OP would have not had a go at Jacob Brown, rather than someone who has not played 90 minutes of football in many matches. Sorry, I'd love George to be the next Ronnie, but he showboats & is not consistent. Jacob works hard & I think he'll be a better forward than Moore (who I rate highly). I really respect the manager for playing our own players & it is **** our fans are totally unforgiving.

I thought they both had good games to be honest. No real reason to have a go at either of them. Don't understand the OP saying That Brown had a mare. He won more headers than the centre-back despite being 6 inches smaller and he closed down just like Bradshaw used to, which is what a lot of fans have been crying out for. He didn't score but I thought he led the line well on his own and had a hand in all three goals.
