Not particularly well liked by the fans at Stoke. https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/298849/jacob-brown Basically, works hard but has a shït touch, isn’t particularly quick and can’t beat a man. Pretty much how I would sum him up.
Had he stayed, he’d have been deployed as RWB under Val and we may never have discovered the hidden gem in Calum Brittain. I liked Browny, would run through a brick wall for the team, but I think we got the better end of the deal in seeing what MK Dons didn’t see, right under their nose, with Calum.
Hasn't improved his poor scoring record. We got good money for him and a cheaper replacement in Frieser who's stats are very similar so we haven't been weakened.
Shame. Roberts, Potts, Watkins, Winnall, etc etc. Lets hope they can live off their 3 year contracts.
Brown would have been one of the forward players in this system. His athleticism and height/jump would have been perfect for what we were massively lacking pre-Christmas. Still think he’d get in to our Best XI now and make us even stronger. I take no pleasure in his failings at Stoke. He gave everything for us in that fight against the drop and did so much good for the club in the community.
Weird one for ex Reds yesterday. Lindsay had a mare, Brown looks lost, yet Kieffer working wonders for big Mick who once upon a time basically humiliated him.
Think he would have played right side of the front 3 if he had stayed, better all round than Chaplin,Frieser and Victor.
Said it at the time but we got a very good deal for Brown. Decent player but easily replaceable with £2m.
Proof I know nothing about football, even tho I liked him I always thought big Keith was nothing more than an average championship player.
I think Freiser will become a good player when he's fully settled in. The majority of our better players took a year or so to become established.
