Jacob Brown would be awesome in our current system. Would rather him than Frieser any day of the week Val would have loved him with his pressing/pace and would actually be another help with our direct style of play.
I was in a pub in St Andrews, nobody else watching the game. We scored and I went mental, the locals thought I was off my trolley.
25 assists for us in 2 seasons he doesn’t become a bad player over night just bad management. Play to his strengths and he’s a decent championship player I’d take him over Chaplin/Freiser any day of the week and would flourish under our current system. He most definitely isn’t an out and out striker that is for sure and he doesn’t have a good touch but he’s got tremendous athletic qualities which in the right system brings others into play.
You're joking aren't you? Brown got 10 assists last season and the more experienced Frieser so far has 2.
Brown this season has very similar if not worse stats than Frieser this season comparing like for like.
Never quite know why some folk slam ex Reds. Jacob was a top performer for us and I was sad to see him go. No he's not international class, but at Championship level he is an asset. He moved at the right time for him and his bank manager. No way we could match what Stoke will be paying him. Came across to me as a good lad.
If fans had been at that game, Wednesday would have been given a penalty late on. The ref would have crumbled the amount of times they went down screaming for a foul the useless gets.
Personally, I think if we'd still got Jacob Brown we'd already be in the play-off spots. Ideal forward for Val. He'd love him.
How’s that work. ? That’s like saying we would have played with 10 men. Yes, His assists contributed. But to say we wouldn’t have got promoted. Or stayed up. Is a dodgy call. His ability in front of goal. Left a lot to be desired. I do believe he would have improved staying with us. And would have been higher up the pecking order than Freiser at the present. Good luck to him. But he’s gone now. Just another ex player for me.
Well we sold potts in the middle of a promotion campaign and he was his replacement and he ended up more effective than potts was his last minute winner at walsall and the fact he created many goal are 2 reasons without him we would have struggled to go up. I'm not saying you play with 10 men but every signing is a gamble not every replacement is effective for example jacobs replacement freiser so far hasn't been as effective.
Not sure how many points we've dropped under VI that we'd have won with Brown in the team. We'd be in the play offs if it wasn't for the 4 games with the Struber circus in town at the beginning of the season.
