Gutted for CBS. A real fighter & an absolute class act who’s battled for everything he’s got who just met someone a bit too good for him tonight. Agree with your point. I asked my mates in the group chat who were nearly all talking about Tyson - Paul if they were watching the boxing tonight & none were. Sad state of affairs that people are more interested in a freak show than a Brit in a world title unification.
I mean it's sad when you at it like that and that is why it'd terrible for boxing. Mike Tyson is one of the most famous people on the planet though. Add that to the media frenzy that was created to get attention and it was always going to be the case. I saw Tyson interviewed by a young YouTuber and he was asked what he thought about his legacy. He said legacy means nothing, that he'll be dead and then what does it matter. Aside from crushing the young girls dreams who asked the question (she looked about 12) it also goes someway to explaining why he did the fight. Take the money and move on.
Shes phenomenal. Had some brilliant memories going to watch her over the years. A credit to the sport of boxing is Katie Taylor.
My 56yrs old brain doesn't get it why would anyone want to watch a former boxer well well past his best fight a bloke who i don't know what his real job is have a pretend fight. I fully get I'm not who it's aimed at but still what absolute nonsense are people so stuck with something to watch in this day and age.
Sounds like someone's been reading Marcus Aurelius. "He who has a vehement desire for posthumous fame does not consider that every one of those who remember him will himself also die very soon; then again also they who have succeeded them, until the whole remembrance shall have been extinguished as it is transmitted through men who foolishly admire and perish." (Meditations 4.19)
