Let's face it, once someone starts a sentence with 'I mean no disrespect' you know for sure, that they are looking to dis-respect someone.

Every professional footballer would prefer to play at Old Trafford rather than Oakwell. They'd be mad not to. Him stating that fact doesn't bother me in the slightest. Neither does the fact that he chose Barnsley to signify an average Championship club. We are. It doesn't hurt me to have that pointed out. On the contrary, I'm quite happy that our club is synonymous with the Championship. I think many people are far too precious about their own team.

When we went down from the Premier League we were gutted beyond belief and all of our players would have been pissed off if they had the prospect of playing at Reading (were they ever in the second tier at that time?) rather than Old Trafford. It's a massive adjustment coming out of the top flight. He's just being honest - I really don't think he meant to offend anyone.

 

but asley ward didnt sat he was going to go to top himself if he went to a shithouse club like grsmby as an away player. Its a very arrogant statment made by a player who is vastly over hyped p-laying for a club that's only had success due to the manager and a supportive rich chairman.
