Good low risk signing imo. Decent track record. Experienced at the level we will be playing at. Nice to see a purely football decision being made here.

He could be Lita but as others have said he could also make an impact like other ‘journeyman’ forwards like Richards or Biggins or Saville or Payton.

Not sure why anyone would see this as anything other than positive

I'm 36, haven't driven since the day I passed my test 18-odd years ago, and never intend to again. Plenty of people don't - it's not as weird as you seem to be making out!

Sorry to dive in, but while I can understand not driving ever, surely it’s weird to pass your test and then never drive again… assuming there is no underlying reason other than you don’t want to!

Never driving again after passing your test is truly weird.

Weird is good though. I'm a fan of weird.

Thanks for going about this normally.

I don't think any team can achieve the max or even be overactive without loans. Be that us 20/21, Shrewsbury a few years ago and even last season. Hudderfield in the champ. Their star, their loan was Levi Colwill. He never played a game outside of the Papa Johns for Chelsea and was the star of not only Huddersfield but the champ at centre back. Even Forest last season. Full of loans. Spence from Boro and the star of centre mid last season. James Garner. Swansea the year before. Freddie Woodman. Best goalkeeper. Marc Guehi best Centre back in the champ that season. Daryl Dike Best striker in the champ

I don't know who I would sign outside of that without spending the 600 quid Wyscout and looking through it for a few days. I'm not going to do that.

I much prefer the club to gamble because it's the way I am as a person. Also, the memory of Mills Lita Tracy Bailey are still there for me. They are lose lose lose players and so are the players we are signing now.

Fair question! I was pretty young when I passed and couldn't afford/didn't want to pay for a car immediately. Moved away a couple of months later to somewhere extremely walkable and never wanted to give it up, so everywhere I've lived subsequently has been chosen with that (and decent public transport) in mind first and foremost.

I find the fact that I could head out tomorrow and legally rent a car extremely funny, because I'd be an absolute menace on the roads!

Fairly sure Neerav talked about including some experience/leadership if they could fit the budget.

I'm happy with the signings we've made/supposed to be making.

Better than bilge like Kiwomya, Ugbo, Frimpong, Kpekawa and the like.

Battle hardened pros who've earned their stripes in the lower leagues.

    Well done BFC.

but for every Mills, Lita, Tracy, Bailey we have had a Frimpong, ugbo and many others I’m sure people on here could help me out with.

yes we’ve had the Man U lad who did well in league one but from my memory the more experienced loans have been far better than the inexperienced prem academy lads

Signing older experienced players need not be that catastrophic.

When we got to the Prem it was on the back of Hendrie, Wilkinson, Thompson etc. - so more elderly pros can't be written off as automatic basket cases, just because of age.

I agree with you to a certain extent as far as blossoming youth is concerned - it can indeed be the way to boost the team (e.g. Harvey Barnes) - via a loan.

I did like the club philosophy of buying young, ahead of the pack due to the "spreadsheet". But it was naive of me to think it would work with a team full of inexperience.

There are many ways to get to how you drop on a decent team. Without cash it seems to boil down to initial organisation, then luck.

Let's hope our manager is lucky.

The squad needs experience, this signing would certainly help. I wouldn't be against a couple more of this age/experience.

Yeah and look what happened to those clubs in all the examples you gave. Hudds had a good season and Colwill has now left and will be sold by his parent clubs for good money and hudds are left with a big gap to fill and no money to do so.

Same story with Swansea and Guehi. He did well there but Swansea couldn't buy him and so the parent club again benefits from it selling him for 20 million or so and Swansea have to find a replacement with no cash brought in to do so.

Forest to their credit got promoted thanks to a few loanees, but guess what, looks like neither will be there next season meaning they need to find other options to fill those big gaps.

Loans can be good to fill gaps towards end of the window or in January when a quick boost is needed like us under Hecky with Fletcher etc. But we should not be putting all our focus on a few loans. Should not be the main priority.

The modern-day game gets younger and younger.

Also with this signing. Ipswich binned him. He wasn't even bin juice,

We are to compete with them and we are signing players they wouldn't want as 6th choice.

Since Covid, all I have done is back the team. Gone to games even when I didn't want to. Engaged in things. Not whined and moaned about I'm not getting a season ticket like some. and Family members telling me to just get the money back from the games 19/20 season. I didn't of course and just left it.

Then this. This isn't a kick in the teeth it's a baseball bat swing.

The new board. Just don't get them. Jean Cryne, saying she just hopes people get behind them. I was behind the club but how can I not find this crazy. James Cryne saying zilch again. Neerav in one of the only questions he answered saying x and giving y with the sale of Morris. This JAQ. What can I say. This women for real? Saying that she did say SHE was adding a striker. So hopfully she will stop pretending she watches all the games or whatever rubbish she said and will explain why we signed HIM and.

People comparing it to lita? Lita was abit older than 31 when he came here and no disrespect to norwood but had played at a much higher level and was on his way down we were a last pay day to him and he wasnt really interested.

Lita was actually 29 when he signed and had a much higher pedigree.

I really hope this comes off and it is a shrewd low wage signing. Worth remembering the financial constraints the club are under.
