Brilliant I was skim reading the thread and read this as 'Spectemur Crescendo' ('judge us by the growing noise'), which I think we should use from now on, Anchorman-style ('loud voices!'). May be difficult with everyone sat down though (PERSISTENT SITTING).
I'm sure newsbot will be along in around 48hours or so to let us know what's happening. Long after Oldham announce it.......
This has to be a joke, surely? I could almost understand the Wrexham rumours, given they could probably pay him more, his profile would be increased due to the media hype around them and he'd bag for fun in L2. But Oldham - there's no logical reason I can think of, dressing room disruption aside, for us to let him go/ship him off there. Oldham certainly can't pay him more, they're in the National League and most prominently, he's probably our best all round forward. If this move is true then the club seriously need to explain the rationale
Crackers. Our most effective striker last year as demonstrated by his impact at Wembley. Also our only "old head" in the squad, already tied down to a contract but aye let's **** him off on the eve of the new season for no obvious reason.
Don't forget he had the cheek to suggest that we needed more and better defenders recently. That would have gone down like a lead balloon. Our board don't like it up'em.
Thing is without Norwood’s experience last season we wouldn’t have been anywhere near Wembley so it just doesn’t make any sense.
His hair in the photo (with the Oldham shirt on) was confusing me! I thought, he had a shaved head in pre-season. It now makes sense having read your comment, thank you - I was starting to think that maybe it had been photoshopped.
My god there's some bed wetters on here. We sign 2 strikers everyone was creaming over watters (apart from me) dallas has a 1 in 2 rate in the national league. Cole was our top scorer last season and scored more than many big name players in the division. We also have jalo wanting game time. How many strikers do people think we need? Suprised no club higher than national league came in for him though.
If its true i wonder if there'll be an open letter in this weeks chron with the board trying to justify this monumental f***k up' its impossible to comprehend' are the club that destitute they accept whats sure to be no more than a nominal fee for our best striker?' Did Norwood want to leave FOR OLDHAM?' Is he not in the gaffers plans ?' Which would be very worrying regarding the gaffers judgement' or is there more going off at the club which both Duff and Norwood aren't happy with' i hate bringing conspiracy theories into it but this club really do bring it on themselves they never fail to bemuse.
They finished 12th, comfortable midtable. 13 points from relegation, 10 from playoffs. Not great but not relegation fodder. If u look on their forum they come across a bit Wednesday, assuming promotion this year, sack the manager if not on track by October and not exactly thrilled with Norwood.....32 years old, 11 in 41.
