Just to add a bit of context, this is the absolute whopper that JAQ let loose on our kit. We should be thankful that we're only miffed with the shorts...Jesus wept. He looks like Willy Wonka's evil twin!

Where have you got 12 months from? Since she got involved with designing kits last season it's been red shorts consistently. Red last year that shitsuper did it and red this year. Mainly because shitsuper gave an interview where he said we play in all red, presumably because that's what he was told

Sorry when has either of them claimed discrimination themselves? It is other people claiming it on their behalf. And it relates to people actually abusing them.

If they weren't being abused constantly then it would be possible to legitimately criticise without being labelled part of the racist/sexist group. What you're doing by blaming them is literally victim shaming.

 

All this over an article that was clearly about Women’s football.
Sorry don’t get the fuss over identity etc, if it was the shirt I would 100% understand but come on it’s a pair of shorts.
As for the 100 years of history etc, it’s not the first time we have worn red shorts and since the late 70’s whilst the colour has predominantly been white the majority have had red included in the design.

 

It's the 2nd season running we've had red shorts on the home kit.

 

I must have been blinded by the big stars on the shirts and missed last season's shorts uproar.

I'll try to organise a petition to bring back white shorts to the men's team for next season.

 

I must admit the white on last season's shirt made the red shorts barely noticeable. Although if we had worn white shorts last season the kit would have been disproportionately white.

 

If we wear red shorts for the odd season no probs, but they could at least make them the same colour red as the bloody shirts, this years kit look like we bought the shirts, then sent somebody down the the market and they came back with the nearest shade they could get!

 

There wasn’t any uproar, because as some have already said they didn’t mind as a ‘one off’, which some seem to think this seasons is. I was just pointing out that it’s not.

 

How come you and me point out exactly the same thing and you get a ‘like’ but I get a sarcastic reply?

Tbf Gally, there's about maybe 20 fans on this bbs shouting about the kit, and a handful saying they don't care or understand why. Who knows what % of the wider fanbase would be bothered.

 

Is this something that should be brought up at the FAB?

1) is the short colour change permanent?

2) why is the change of shorts colour being linked to the women's team not wearing white shorts when we have a white away kit?

Asking your opinion as someone involved with it.

 

Long time- no post.... I only checked in to see if any developments on signings and found this 'long' thread about 'shorts'to be very entertaining and could not resist adding my 'three-apeth worth'...

For all those who are riled by aligning the kits and 'unmentionable lady stains' being the one of the alleged reasons for red shorts I would suggest that you could organise a 'demenstruation'

I understand the criticism/dislike of the design just some of the comments along lines of 100 years of tradition etc.
