Yep. Imagine we will sign 5 or 6 permenant and then 4 or 5 loans to supplement. Whoever we get looking forward to seeing them play and hopefully develop into another team as I get that. Whatever happens happens. I'm not too fussed. Club will hopefully be refining the model that has worked so well last couple of years. It's in its infancy given it was a whole change of philosophy. The immediate success it had is quite incredible and huge credit to all involved at the club. I'll trust them to learn from any mistakes, keep taking the club forward, and hopefully give us fans plenty more amazing seasons like the two just enjoyed. There will be plenty of blips along the way I'm sure. It's a daft game where 22 people kick a ball of air around. Not worth worrying too much about like some on here do. I know for a fact if I was so unhappy in the way some posters are I simply wouldn't keep going. Plenty of more important things in life if Barnsley fc makes them so miserable.
I like what I'm reading about this one. Over 6 foot tall. Stays fit. Won Wycombe's Player of the Year in 2016 (succeeding Mawson) and Walsall's this season. Not bad for a full back. And it look likes he's picked us over the Blunts. Promising.
Just been talking to my Nephew in Poole. He's a Season Ticket holder at St Mary's. Says that young McCarthy came through the Saints Academy and was sent out on loan to Wycombe to gain more experience. Saints fans thought he would eventually " shadow" Clyne but when the latter was sold to Liverpool Jason seemed to slip down the pecking order and went on loan to Walsall. Our Pete says he's a good signing for the Reds and thinks he will do really well for us. Let's hope he's right.
Don't let's forget Yids played on the wing and scored around 14 goals when he was a Barnet player. Hecky might play this lad at full back and push Yids further upfield. Our Pete ( from Poole) has sent me an email saying he's had a word with some of his mates who like him support the Saints and unless they are bringing a big signing in they can't understand why he's being let go re- loan OK but permanent transfer - puzzling. They all rate him that much. Said again " if the Reds are signing him you're getting a cracking full-back for not a lot of money."
Yiadom also played very well at left back when asked last season. They could definitely both fit into the same 11.
