The player who makes Brentford tick So says my mate, who's a Brentford supporter. I've been impressed when I've seen him play. Liker Shuker, small, but physically stronger and good in the tackle.
Apparently Gillingham are after him now Gills enter Foster race GILLINGHAM are rivals to Barnsley for defender Steve Foster, it has emerged. Officials at Oakwell were today awaiting a decision from him and his agent following their offer of a two year contract. Warrington based Foster, who is out of contract, is believed to want to stay in the north and Championship football is another lure to Barnsley. Crewe are expecting him to leave. Manager Dario Gradi admitted: "Foster has allowed his contract to come to an end, so we know he is unlikely to sign a new one when he has had the opportunity to do so in the past. "I've already said that we would be keen to keep him if he wanted to stay. "We haven't really spoken about his situation because I assume he is going and if he does he goes with our best wishes because he has been terrific for us." Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson has been monitoring the Foster situation. Colchester United were in turmoil today after manager Phil Parkinson tendered his resignation, only for the newly-promoted Championship outfit to reject the request. Parkinson has been widely tipped to be the first choice of Hull chairman Adam Pearson to succeed the recently departed Peter Taylor, who has taken up the vacancy at Crystal Palace. A statement on Colchester's official website said: "He (Parkinson) is under contract for another year and we have asked him to reflect upon the position and to discuss matters with us further on his return from holiday." John Schofield has been appointed head coach of Lincoln with former Barnsley assistant manager John Deehan named director of football at Sincil Bank. Former Imps player Schofield, who made almost 300 appearances in his playing days for the League Two club, has signed a two-year contract. Schofield, a UEFA 'A' licence holder, returned to the club six years ago as head of youth development and was appointed first-team coach prior to the start of last season.

That would be a brilliant signing It would also show that Andy Ritchie and Gordon Shepherd have their heads screwed on right in regards to bringing to the club younger and hungrier players . If this happens , then well done Andy and Gordon .(Y)
