I heard at the time he went out on loan to Oostende that we are still paying 80% of Sibbick’s wages.

Even though his was a permanent deal, I wouldn’t be surprised if we are also still paying some of McGeehan’s too, like Leeds had to when Robbie Fowler went to Man City.

I’ve nothing to substantiate that (not even the first one really), but I did find it convenient they both went to Chien’s new pet project.

I questioned those two deals as being suspect, and was shot down at the time by people suggesting it will be a mutually beneficial thing - I’m yet to see what Barnsley got from sending Oostende a player on loan (and potentially still footing some of the wages), and allowing a decent player to go to the same club, apparently for free (there was no mention of an ‘undisclosed fee’ or anything, just that he’d joined them on a permanent deal). He was worth at least £500k on the open market, and had we touted clubs we’d have got money for him.

Whatever it is with Sibbick re wages ( and I haven’t a clue.) I believe they were given an option to sign him at the end of the loan. Or I may have dreamt that one. Can’t find owt to confirm that.
I would imagine Mcgeehan would have received a pay off to terminate his contract. He certainly wouldn’t have agreed to lose too much money, if owt. Choosing to try and build his career back up with guaranteed 1st team football. Surprised he went abroad. But obviously Pompey weren’t prepared to give him or us what we wanted. Did any other clubs show interest. Guess not.

I want to know where the money’s gone. The accounts don’t show owt like that level of detail. If they really are reinvesting every penny I’d love to know where it’s gone.

Not one for reading accounts missen but pretty sure that everything will be in there. Not in layman’s language but cover everything I believe. Maybe one of our accounts experts can Brek it down better. Are you one of those. Cos that is the only thing that will satisfy you I believe.
Did you believe Patrick was pouring money into the club. Whilst lots on here were saying where’s the money gone. Re stones et al. I took him at his word. And until I know that’s not the case as fact. I will go along with it. As I go along with the club reinvesting all monies coming in . Back into the club. Until that changes I can’t say differently. You choose to, that’s your perogative. But no evidence to back it up.

We don't know what the arrangement is for Sibbick, or what pay off McGeehan got. We were also trying, and failing, to get Cavare and Pinillos off the wage bill before we signed Sollbauer and Ritz.

We've also given new contracts to Walton, Styles and Wolfe. Hopefully talking to Mowatt as well.

Can try to add up people's assumed wages all we like, but ultimately, I'd be surprised if the club are turning over a profit at the moment, so I don't think the owners are pocketing transfer money. I just think the recruitment side of the club is laced with incompetence.
