RE: Oh, come on. It was obviously a joke. nt seem to Gerald Ratner making a good joke too, theres some things that you do not joke about it mihght be (ok if you were born and bred there you might joke about something with your mates) but as a representative of an organisation on national television you do'nt.I know if it was my job to sell the clubs or the towns image I would be pulling my hair out at him going for a cheap laugh like that.
RE: Oh, come on. It was obviously a joke. nt I think people need to get over themselves Barnsley never has been and never will be a Cosmopolitian. It's a mining town end off

RE: Oh, come on. It was obviously a joke. nt Did I say it was? just making a comment on professionalism and what you should or should'nt say in public esecially on TV
Saw the clip posted on here Making a mountain out of a molehill. OK, probably not the best thing he could have come out with but it wasn't a prolonged slagging, just a throwaway comment
Throwaway comments can cost people their jobs mate He plays for the club that plays in the town that he and all his footballing mates are too good to live in. It's an insult to those who pay his wages and follow the team. If it had been said by Sean Bean or Blade or someone like that, we'd have been calling for his head.
All of you who are offended by that need to get out more He clearly said it as a joke - and to be honest I thought it was funny. If you get upset by that then you are far too sensitive to be a steriotypical Yorkshireman/woman - Oh and I dont live in Barnsley either
