Fantastic signing. Exactly the type of player the squad needed! Really excited for the start of the new season now, especially with the fixtures being released tomorrow. Just hope it's not misplaced.. U reds!!
Quality, we bought a Bayern Munich player Im sure he did learn a great deal at an age where it was important he was around quality players. He was rated at Tranmere, so let's hope he came back a better player!
I'm missing why people are using words like "excellent" and "brilliant" with regards to the signing. Fingers crossed he turns out to be just that but right now it's far too early to be talking the lad up so much. On paper he had 29 starts in division 3 for a team that's done better in that league since he's been gone. Then he spent two years abroad where he didn't play one competitive first team game, granted in the best team in Europe. For me he's still a lot to prove. Can he hack it at championship level where he's no experience? Is no competitive game for over 24 months going to have an impact? We should be patient with him and not expect too much too soon.
Negative oiks. You should have stopped up and watched the FL show all the way through then you'd know. Apparently.
daily Mail said the same fee, when we were first linked ...here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2342833/Dale-Jenning-set-talks-Barnsley.html
Re: daily Mail said the same fee, when we were first linked ...here We just need Matt Derbyshire to sign now, then we're sorted.
Here at work I've just been speaking to a Notts County fan about the Jennings signing and he cannot believe he's signed for us. He's seen him play for Tranmere against Notts and says that he ripped them to shreds. It is his opinion that a realistic club for Jennings at this stage of his career would be Hull City, Crystal Palace, etc, i.e. one of the Championship promoted clubs looking to strengthen their squad for the Premiership. This signing is a real statement of intent. It sends out a clear message to the other Championship clubs that we mean business. It will also encourage our other transfer targets to sign for us. Get in there!!!
Mellis & Jennings - made in heaven that combo! Mellis can finally go central behind the strikers. Doesn't look good for RNL though.
With Done being released RNL is the only other winger we have apart from Silva who is yet to impose himself.
Jennings doesn't think he'll play every week. Flitcroft the manager said he expected big things from Reuben. If he's sorted himself out which he looked to have then Jennings might spend a lot of time on the bench.
He doesn't say that! "I can't expect to turn up and play every week. I will have to work hard and do well for the team to earn the opportunity." Read more at http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/ar...sley-17062013-870420.aspx#FiMLWo6jgsGiEZe6.99
