The Ref states the Yellow was for pushing he saw prior to the elbow

....so he didn't see the elbow that occurred after....so its video evidence for an offence that went unpunished by the match officials.

When did a player ever get a yellow card for a bit of pushing?

Sounds to me like the ref is telling porkies. He just bottled the red card and then made something up about pushing when it was obvious from the video evidence he'd made a right ballacks of it.

Leeds fan at works said the day after, that Beckford would still be charged - Because, the 'FA have it in for Leeds and Ken Bates'.

I thought it possible that neither Alan Wiley, nor the linesman clearly saw what actually happened, but that Wiley gave Beckford a yellow in that he (Wiley) turned and saw the keeper on the ground and the linesman may have seen what seemed to him from a distance to be 'pushing.' I would certainly agree that Wiley upgraded it on the evidence of the video after the game and he can change his match report to include the further evidence, which is what D'Urso should have done. Credit Wiley for doing so if that were the case.

It is worth remembering that Morgan's elbow was WORSE than Beckford's in that Morgan had Hume directly IN FRONT of him and it was, therefore, a calculated and deliberate elbow to the side of the head, near the temple, which is the most vulnerable area of the skull. Beckford just elbowed backwards into Forde, who was behind him and it was seemingly in retaliation for Forde's arm hitting him on the head. Beckford's elbow could have hit Forde anywhere, as he was not looking at the time and the keeper was behind him. Morgan could see what he was doing, as Hume was in front of him.

D'Urso had another mare of a game at Norwich on Saturday.

One rule for one and another for Sheffield United.

Time for more questions of the FA I reckon.

The FA couldn't act because D'Urso stood by his initial assessment of the situation. Wiley has presumably admitted he didn't book Beckford for an elbow so therefore missed it. That can be implied by the fact he was booked for 'pushing', according to his report. It is D'Urso who is at fault for seeing Morgans elbow as merely catching an opponent while challenging, even after seeing video. How he keeps on refereeing is beyond me. I do think the FA need to revamp their rulebook. No common sense allowed.

Morgan was booked for reckless play

There was no mention of an elbow.

Beckford was apparently booked for an elbow. When the ref. subsequently saw the video he decided that he got it wrong.

D'Urso got it wrong, but cannot admit it.

Surely the FA have to act, and we should ask how they can differentiate between the two offences
